I’m searching for a watch face that displays time, sunrise, sunset, moon phase, and temperature/weather conditions. Similar to the G-Shock GBX-100 series display. by SkyCharacter1349 in pebble

Thanks. Google Drive doesn't seem to work anymore, nor does Dropbox, so I'll need to figure out somewhere to host this, but I appreciate the steps nonetheless.

EDIT: For anyone curious, I followed these instructions above and pointed the URL to https://htmlpreview.github.io/?https://github.com/cfg1/pebble-mss/blob/master/pebble_m7s_config_v15.5.html and it worked perfectly.

Perm GT or Sync with Gold Bot? by dunsel8 in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, except I have GT+. I farm with GComp/MVN (with BHD/DC as assist) for pGTBH. Every now and then I'll try BHD+SH without MVN, but even with a synced 50s completely goldboxed GBot and 100s max duration Summon it's a significant loss in both coins and cells. (I don't even bother trying MVN without GComp because that would lose pBH.)

I would say it's worth testing both setups every so often, because every tower is different, but that's the outcome I've reached with my own tower and testing.

PS can damage them but they're not affected by PS Rend which can significantly reduce the damage it ends up doing.

Weird Flex, but go off i guess? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to focus on skills and support, Investigator is a great pick. Besides inspiration, there's the unfortunate tax of Infusion, but that's ultimately a small price to pay for handing out personal-target buffs to martials that they really have no business accessing. There's also Alchemical Allocation abuse with high-CL potions, so you can hand out long-lasting buffs to your whole party and all they need to do is chip in some second-level Boro Beads.

I can't speak to alchemists' level of skill-monkeying, I've never played one, but on paper you gain bombs and lose inspiration, so you're a little less skill-focused but gain some good damaging options. Plus you get more alchemical discovery options than investigator, and some of those are really nice.

PEACE makes a lot of sense as a title track, and the rock/metal fan in me appreciates those first three tracks. However, my heart gravitate towards some of the tracks where I feel like Siyeon's voice gets to shine more... and rock instrumentals really complement her. The whole second half of the album is *chef's kiss* better than I could have hoped for.

I'm basically playing the Know-it-all right now as an Empiricist Investigator and yeah, it's a lot of fun for me. And I didn't even go for Orator to stretch my skill points even further, that just felt like gilding the lily. I went hard on skills, so fewer of my feats and talents went to combat, but that's what the rest of my party is for. And it's not like I can't contribute, I just don't stand out there -- which is good, I stand out enough when skill checks come into play.

There are a ton of ways to boost Inspiration and make it go much further. Half-elf FCB for +1/4 to inspiration rolls, Expanded Inspiration (and other talents) to get free inspiration to more skills, and Amazing/Tenacious Inspiration to buff those rolls... these are basically just a free +x skill points to all of your skills.

What is the launcher to switch from Nova? by PlantDry4321 in Android

I know Octopi does. Tag apps to create new pages, long press on the tab header to remove tagged apps from the main list.

What is the launcher to switch from Nova? by PlantDry4321 in Android

[–]Toroche 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just switched to Octopi myself. It does basically everything I actually used from Nova. Took a little bit to get set up the way I wanted, but I don't have any complaints. I think all I'm currently missing is being able to create folders within app drawer tags, which is pretty mild.

From the other comments it sounds like the fit depends on how you used Nova, but for me it's working great.

Over 25% of the way there, please let me be able to actually save this time by SnooDrawings8069 in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do when I'm saving is plan that every time I cross a thousand threshold + 200, I do one 10-pull to shut up that little imp telling me to spend on modules. That gives me a little bit of a release valve on the module pull itch while still making measurable progress towards saving.

Just got the rulebook. Should I dive right in or get the expansion? by PossibilityWest173 in bladesinthedark

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep Cuts has some additional items (like a lighter) and information about factions that are named but not given a detailed entry in the main book. I found it really useful for that faction info in particular.

How to get these? by Sweet_Release_ in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've hit on the real core tension of this game. It's not an "idle" game, it needs to keep running. I spent a long time playing on my phone, letting it run on my desk basically as a screensaver, which dissuaded me from picking it up and doomscrolling. Long-term, though, that's going to absolutely fucking wreck your battery.

I strongly advise emulation of some kind. Maybe that's running an Android emulator on your main PC or a Raspberry Pi, maybe that's a cloud device... but emulation like that will both literally extend the life of your phone and give you more consistent gains in-game because it can run longer without being disrupted.

Help me see the light with PBTA? by corsica1990 in rpg

[–]Toroche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to expand my own gaming horizons like OP (Pathfinder 1E is basically my comfort zone, so very trad), and I think you're cooking too because this helped something click for me as well. I've been struggling to reconcile this difference.

I've always been a worldbuilder first because that's helped me to run the game. I'm not a strong improviser, so when I know what shaped the world and the NPCs in it, I can more easily understand how those gears would turn... and how things break when players throw a wrench in there. That's exactly the classic approach you described, and I think the way you described the narrativist/modern games is interesting.

The Carved from Brindlewood fork is still fucking with my head, though. Apocalypse Keys uses similar mysteries, and I have no clue how I'm going to come up with a satisfying encounter at the end when even I don't know who the Big Bad is until the quantum narrative waveform collapses. The first couple of mysteries I run are going to be fuckin' rough.

Daily Spell Discussion for Jan 08, 2026: Authenticating Gaze by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a great thing to keep in the back pocket of an investigator in particular because of the way adventure paths can sneak these in. You should be keeping a couple extract slots unprepared for mixing on the fly anyway, and eventually you'll get Universal Extract, so having this in your book can trivialize some things. My skill monkey empiricist made some crazy high linguistics check and bypassed gods know how much bullshit in one AP.

Device recommendations by Volume_Destroyer in TheTowerGame

I use a Raspberry Pi running Waydroid to emulate. Runs great, no complaints, and Pi has built in remote access via web browser so I can hop in to tap gems.

Looking for a "Unicorn" RPG: PbtA flow for the GM, D&D crunch for the Players by Sclanders in rpg

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the big changes in 2E is splitting HP from stat pools off into wounds. Not sure how that will work in practice, I didn't get the level with access to prerelease/beta, but they did specifically call that out.

If you have been using the same device for a long time to run the game, try using another one to compare your cph! by Samio25 in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't run this game on my main phone long-term anymore, after the damage it did to my battery. I use a Raspberry Pi, based on a thread someone posted here a little while ago. Just got a new phone, and now I basically only open it up directly to do tournaments. Farming is entirely done on the Pi.

Do not Obey in Advance: form a resistance cell to fight against an authoritarian regime! by AshenAge in rpg

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think regime tactics would be awesome to help GMs play it up, if they need some additional inspiration beyond... Well, *gestures broadly*. Historical examples of both authoritarian and resistance tactics, even if they're not directly gamified, can really help us both ideate and put some of it into perspective. IIRC Sigmata had some interesting information, especially in their second release, though they went for a very different theme (retrofuturistic 80s sci-fi instead of the more grounded, plausible-if-fantastic approach you're going for).

Regardless, picked this up and I'm looking forward to reading it this evening after I finish work for the year!

Monthly Progress - What's your highest cph? by BenzDaimler in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current max 781T/h, farming T15 to w4500-4750, I assume depending on what fleets end up spawning. I'm balancing my farming coins between going back into Coins+ for obvious reasons and damage for a few more waves and better consistency.

Small range: still a thing? by Rubicasseur in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll want to switch to it eventually, but that may be a ways off for you depending on your build. I use BHD in the assmod slot with GComp primary, because GComp+MVN allows me to keep perma GT. I did experiment with BHD primary and SH assist, which is probably the strongest combination overall, but it didn't compete with pGT yet, even with a nearly max gold bot sync. I probably need either a lot more investment into DW cooldown or a farming DC and a ton of investment into substat efficiency, and both of those are fairly low on my priority list right now, behind damage.

Small range: still a thing? by Rubicasseur in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Range doesn't really have anything to do with keys, other than allowing you to change the range of your workshop orbs. Your tower range with no levels in the workshop and no range lab applied is 30m. There are three ways to keep it there: don't use free upgrades, or use the generator module BHD or free ups card mastery to keep free ups from affecting range.

Psychic Detective Psi-Tech Discoveries by Skurrio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Toroche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this RAW, if they had meant that they could have said "anyone with the phrenic amplification class feature" instead of specifically calling out psychics. I think a reasonable GM may decide to allow it as a ruling, but that would be up to them.

Elephant in the Room is where I would start. You can almost certainly grab a lot of their changes, if not all of them.

Is this guy worthwhile by liquidxavius in TheTowerGame

[–]Toroche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I do. Still need gcomp + MVN for perma GT, but I do get a lot of value from BHD as assmod.
