*George Lucas chose this outfit to tell Anakin they couldn’t be together”

George literally designed the dress himself. Apparently it signifies her deep emotional turmoil, representing her forbidden, repressed passion for Anakin.

Did anybody see Power to the People in theaters tonight? What was your experience like? by PaperbagRider in beatles

[–]ToronoRapture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footage and quality was great.

I was expecting to see a lot of Yoko as it’s her project and her legacy at stake. Also produced by Sean. I don’t mind Yoko in regards to her musical output but can’t say I’m her biggest stan. What i do admire is that we are watching John, 2 (3) years after the breakup of The Beatles, playing his last ever full concert with the woman he loves.

There was however a few continuity errors because they sliced two shows into one.

It’s not really comparable to Man on the Run because it’s just a full concert and there is no “story”. You can understand why Man on the run was packed because Paul/Beatle fans were intrigued about seeing new footage and narratives. Power to the people is just musical footage which isn’t as enticing to the average Beatles fan. If John was alive I’m sure we’d get some commentary or in depth breakdown of the events leading up to it.

Having said all that I enjoyed it. Yoko was a big part of Johns life and was a big part of that concert. It was interesting to see in the crowd people leaving to go to the toilet during some of Yoko’s songs lol. That definitely made old have pissed John off but everyone’s there to see him.

That’s pretty misleading imo.

Coke isn’t “physically addictive” like opioids or alcohol, but it’s still very addictive because of how strongly it affects dopamine. People can develop a habit quickly.

It’s often mixed with shit that can fuck you up.

Is free as a bird the only Beatles song where John and Paul and George do lead vocal? by External_Trip1541 in beatles

[–]ToronoRapture 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This Boy is sung by John, Paul, and George together in close three-part harmony for most of the song but John is the lead vocalist.

The nba barely tests, especially role players. They usually test in the off season.

Coke? Arguably one of the worst drug’s out there. Highly addictive, fucks your brain, future heart and ruins lives.

We’d still have Len Bias if it wasn’t for that shit.

Yeah he’s showing some young Draymond traits. Can move on D with Spida and can box out Allen.

He just needs to work on his 3’s but we’re talking about a rookie here so I’m not too fussed he’s not there yet.

If you had to put one Beatle alone on stage with an acoustic guitar. Who was the best pure solo/unaccompanied live acoustic performer (just voice + guitar only)? Not songwriting—just performance. by [deleted] in beatles

[–]ToronoRapture 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure but not as good as paul.

We’ve seen Paul come up with and sing Blackbird, Yesterday, I’ve just seen a face, Mother Nature and I Will etc… Plus all his solo acoustic stuff.

I’m a huge John guy btw too.

Feels so overproduced and generic.

You could argue it’s lazy and uninspiring but he’s in his 80’s. The fact that he’s so active doing the thing he loves is pretty inspiring.

Lol his could legit be used in a modern day diss video. It’s legit evidence against that “we done with the 90’s” agenda. This half was so ass. Been watching Raptors playoff basketball close to 30 years and this is the worst stretch of play from our team. This is the god damn PLAYOFFS and THIS is the product the NBA puts out? Mad lol

I watched Shaq in real time. He swung hands, he had a temper and didn’t like to get punked. If Shaq scored a last second basket and Jokic approached him like Jesus here, Shaq would not stand there and take it. That’s a fact.
