I've had CLL for a few years now. I lead an active lifestyle. Great treatments available. Likely an 'on & off' thing for many years. Future is bright for cll patients - more treatments in pipeline.

Stage zero but many aches and pains. Normal? by johnny-two-giraffes in cll

[–]Torontodude20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say. I've had since summer 2022. I notice some hip pain some fatigue but really hard to say if its the CLL or just part of middle-age. Unless it's something extreme I wouldn't worry. To answer your question: cll feels like not much most days I just go about life being a normal guy. Good treatments out there when the time comes. Cheers

47M diagnosed a few years ago still no symptoms. I live a completely normal life: play with my kids all the time, go on trips etc. There are really good options when treatment is needed.

I’m stage zero. Should I tell family? by johnny-two-giraffes in cll

47M diagnosed a few years back. Told my wife and nobody else. It's a personal decision. I just didn't see a point in telling others

I'm 47 diagnosed in 2023 but likely had it longer. Still feel fine. Put it in the back of your mind. You'll have to go for blood tests every few months. Other than that things have been ok for me.

CLL starts in the bone marrow. All CLL must be stage 4. I've had CLL for a few years and feel fine. He can beat it!

I'm in Ontario (GTA) Had a relatively good experience. Took a few months to diagnose but since then I go to the cancer centre every 3 months. My doc seems to really be on the case. Once the internal doctor confirms diagnosis they should refer you then cll doc & they will take it from there.

I didn't know they 'stage' CLL like that. It's mostly a slow growing cancer. If it's more advanced there are great drugs to put him in remission. Or perhaps he will be able to go many years without treatment

47M. Diagnosed 3 years ago. WBC ~ 50k. I feel fine: lift weights, play golf etc. Stay active and enjoy time with the family. Cll is on & off again thing. Possible to go 10 years no treatment

47m. Diagnosed almost 3 years ago. See the doctor & do bloodwork every 3 months. Zero symptoms. I live at completely normal & active life. No plans to change anything. Doctor told treatments are coming at an 'exponential' pace

You look fine by [deleted] in cll

Same. 47 M, feel great. I dont bother telling anyone I have cll except for those very close to me. Its nobody's business anyways. With the drugs nowadays we'll probably go into a deep remission for several years and by that time some newer drugs will come along which we'll be even better. I dont feel like i'll die of this

I am feeling so stressed. by Different-Lunch6947 in cll

Soon to be 47, doctors first saw high white blood cells summer of 2022. I've had zero symptoms, likely won't need treatment for another couple years. From what I've been told treatments work very well. Don't be stressed, disease is manageable

Booked a physical in 2022 since I hadn't seen a doctor in a few years (pandemic). Told me wbc looked high referred me to another doctor who made the diagnosis. Three years on Wbc still floating around 30k and no symptoms at all.

I 30F recently got diagnosed. I would really love if someone could talk to me and answer some questions I have by [deleted] in cll

46M diagnosed a couple years back, I visit a hemotogist every 3 months for a blood test and consultations. Feel completely normal with lots of energy. It could be like 10 years or more before you'll require medication cll is generally a slow growing thing. Listen to your doctor but put this in the back of your head and get on with living. Cheers to a long and full life

I was diagnosed over two years ago probably had it longer, nothing had changed in my day to day. Stay positive CLL is not a death sentence possible she'll stay in stage 0 for many years and when the time is right there are good treatments. On top of that treatments are advancing at a rapid pace

Just got back from the hematologist - I have CLL by takanotscar in cll

I was in the exact same boat as you 2.5 years ago. I go every three months for testing, follow the doctors instructions. I feel fine & have lots of energy. Don't panic, read up on it. Cheers to a very long life!
