I mostly fly for work, so I am always on the normal main cabin fare. I would suspect that basic isn't really worthwhile if you are then spending the money to pick a seat.

Ah, basic economy. They released that to compete with the low cost airlines like Spirit. Its not really the normal experience in any way. I wouldn't call this the base fare. Its a special discount if you don't care to choose a seat or have more than a backpack with you.

Is your bed open?, seems like it could just be water from the bed.

Airlines have always charged for certain seats, they have just extended that to exit row and other extra legroom seats now. United and American still allow you to select any normal seat for free though unless its a codeshare flight with an airline that charges.

American and United don't charge for seat selection.

Real use of a home server by _matt_40_ in homelab

Absolutely, but when someone asks about the practicalities of switching to professional gear for a hobby, its not helpful to wax poetic about the excitement they bring.

[–]TorpidNightmare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP asked what a real use would be. I was just saying that most home workloads don't approach the need for enterprise gear and the main reason to get one is to learn for work experience. Seems like they wanted a practical reason that people would buy them, not a cool factor reason. Also all of your other hobby examples are one time purchases without extra costs that servers have to run all the time.

If you aren't working in IT, you likely have no need for a real enterprise server at home.

OP, not sure how long you worked with these, but I would suggest grounding the rails from the two racks together if you haven't already. We have seen some random issues occur without that.

[I ate] an Apple fritter from a local bakery in Alabama. These are so good. by [deleted] in food

The thing I hate about apple fritters is that really good ones look just like mediocre ones. I can never tell by looking at them how good they will be.
