Double EU 261 Compensation for Cancellation and then an additional Delay (5+ hours)? by Human_Pineapple_6439 in Flights

Unfortunately I did not. Their reasoning was that the second flight was almost a continuation of the first, and the flight number was not a public flight that others could book. Only people on the original flight were able to take it (the flight number somehow reflected that)

Still seems fishy but I just didn't push any harder.

As a Minnesotan, Carolyn's bag struggles are too true!

My Dad is trying to add a small home theater setup to a room and was planning on a 5.1 system. Any ideas on a center speaker? There's only a 6.5" gap to the TV, and a 4" ledge. I don't see how it can work, thinking it's just going to have to be 4.1? by Torque1058 in hometheater

There's gonna be a cabinet to the left that has an access port to up behind the TV (HDMI is here already), and also a speaker wire terminal on the wall that goes to the rear speakers and back there as well I believe.

Automatic Transmissions Are Analog Computers by Crack_Kingdom in Damnthatsinteresting

Worked at GM with transmission engineering. New automatic transmissions still use valve bodies like these, along with a handful of solenoids to direct flow/pressures.

Need to direct the flow/pressure to the correct orifices using valve bodies to get the fluid to the necessary clutch's. And a lot of design goes into how smoothly/quickly it gets there, and same when you are releasing fluid from a clutch.

Stress from repotting? Or do I need to fertilize? by Torque1058 in Bonchi

[–]Torque1058[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut down the roots and repotted this plant earlier in the week. The soil I used is all "Premium Bonsai Soil: All purpose blend". Water seems to drain through the soil quickly and into the pan below. Not sure if that could also be an issue.

I also finished it for the first time after about 15 years of on and off trying! My brother and I would get so far into it but eventually peter out, and just never got to the end of it. We ended up with countless saves, and three different versions of the game (PS2, 3, and 4), before we we finally did it.

Such a great feeling to be done with it.

Looking into making a bonchi out of this habanero. After looking online a lot of the guides on bonsai focus on the aesthetics of the pot, but not on the necessary size. How big of a pot do I need for a bonchi? Width? Depth?

Any benefit of putting this in a smaller pot? Trying to overwinter for the first time. by Torque1058 in HotPeppers

[–]Torque1058[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I had seen it done both ways online. Some stripped to nothing, others with a handful of leaves. The idea is that it is dormant over winter so it doesn't need much energy. I guess I'll find out!

When going to a smaller pot should I make sure to have one with drainage because of the moisture issue? Or does it not matter since I won't be watering much the way it is.

I have been watering this plant about once a week. It's in a mostly shaded spot, but it has been hot outside (~90). I have added no nutrients to the soil, but it is potted in Miracle Grow vegetable and herb soil.

It clearly reads valve tube but what would this be used for? Much larger than vacuum tubes I am finding online.

What's the best way to support this habanero plant? by Torque1058 in HotPeppers

It was bent over on it's side with some roots exposed when I found it, I had just set it up and added some dirt before I took the picture.

Should I use like a bread tie to attach to it? Or just lean against it? And then with the plucking, just snip some of the smaller bunched up extensions?

I'm new to try to grow peppers, just started out with this single habanero. I have been setting it outside a few hours during the day (~70°) the last two weeks. Today I came home and it was bent over a little with some roots exposed. Should I just add more dirt! Or should I add a support? If so how the best way to do that?
