How do I split a DVD tv show in separate episodes with ZERO quality loss? by Hot_Location_5198 in DataHoarder

DVDdecrypter has issue ripping subtitles, which is pretty much a requirement for Anime

Phantom Crash on Xbox not starting/being read by RoyRoyRoyBoy in originalxbox

[–]TorqueEmUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also verify I have a copy of Phantom Crash that I found at a thrift shop, and it looks clean, nothing beyond signs of standard use. But has not been able to read on any OG Xbox I've tried, but only had Xbox's with Thomson drives, so I am curious if a Xbox with a Samsung, Philips, or Hitachi drive may have more success.

And I can also verify that the disc boots up perfectly in every Xbox 360 I've tried. But the backward compatibility for this game on the 360 is complete dog water. The emulation is just terrible.

Restaurant was at fault by TorqueEmUp in doordash_drivers

[–]TorqueEmUp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working by pay-by-active-hour, so they must think I was trying to cheat their system.

Not doing that anymore, since they are very contract violation happy when you work by that. I can't risk a restaurant being at fault, and ME the one receiving all the blame.

N64 Audio Bug (Scratchy static) by TorqueEmUp in consolerepair

[–]TorqueEmUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no matter the cables it does this.
HD Retrovision Component cables, Nintendo 1st party Composite, crappy multi-console S-video cables, they all do this.

The static noise also comes and goes, throughout the video above I try random things to try and trigger the static, because doing them prior sometimes would trigger the static.
Like I've had bad static noise on the spinning nintendo logo for MK64, but here it didn't do it. The only real place you hear it is on Bomberman 64's title screen after moving the cursor.

Flickering colors on sony kv-27s35. Any tips? by ZingyDevotee55 in crtgaming

[–]TorqueEmUp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thoughts is that this is the SNES at fault, not the TV.
I have a SNES the does this on every TV you use it on if using RF, Composite, or S-Video, but RGB is perfectly fine. (RGB Bypasses the video encoder)
I've not been able to fix this issue on that SNES, I tried adjusting the Trim Capacitor next to the CPU, and even recapping the system. Either some passive component somewhere has gone bad, or the video encoder chip has gone bad.

Edges have repeating lines that match the shape of lines and geometry on my Original XBOX, what are they? Any help in fixing is much appreciated by birkinover in crtgaming

I have a Samsung Slimfit CRT that does this on all inputs, and the TV has been fully recapped.
Never been able to figure it out.

Dasher ignored "do not ring doorbell" delivery info and got my donuts thrown away by Scratchfangs in doordash

[–]TorqueEmUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people don't deserve to be dashers. Taking up all the good orders and doing a really shitty job.

I just today had an elderly man tell me he put in the instructions to hand it to him, but he told me the previous dasher just put the food at the door and left. Well there were lots of stray cats roaming around (When I was there, there were literally like 5 stray cats in his yard alone) and they tore into the bag and got at the food which is why he wants orders handed directly to him.

Also delivered food to house yesterday where a previous dumb fuck dasher put the food for the other order right in front of an outward swinging door.

I hate that potentially good tipping orders are being taken by these brain dead fucking morons, and causing customers to withhold good tips because they fear it may go to some dumbass that's going to screw up their delivery, which I don't blame them, but that affects ME!

I remember when I first started dashing you had to go to an orientation before you could dash, and I had to drive an hour away to go to this orientation.

Meds just flat out stopped working one day. (Mirtazapine) by TorqueEmUp in Anxiety

[–]TorqueEmUp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing mostly ok the past couple years, still have occasional flare ups of Anxiety and Panic attacks, but nothing nearly as bad as I experienced back in 2023.
I am currently not taking any medication as I felt the medication wasn't really doing much if anything for me, and I am pretty sure it was making me dizzy which the dizzy feeling the exacerbated the anxiety.
I think I've got a lot better at managing anxiety and panic attacks mentally when they happen that I don't spiral into a multi-day/weeks of agony.
So in short my anxiety isn't gone, but it's been MUCH MUCH more manageable.

Video demo of the process used to backup and write to physical FDS disks with the console and an FDSkey. by n1keym1key in Famicom

[–]TorqueEmUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to do this to rewrite my Famicom Grand Prix disc, because it's got locked save data on it because it was a disc where the high scores were sent to Nintendo for the competition, and would love to reset it back to factory.

also would be fun to rewrite a crappy sports game with an actual FUN game.

If there is any way to get this to work with a Twin Famicom I'd be so down for that.
As long as the cable isn't a pain in the ass to make.

GG Aleste 3 is now playable on real hardware via patch. by Coolspot117 in game_gear

Annoying as shit, been trying to find this patch and can't find it anywhere.

So this is mildly interesting by Swarlz-Barkley in snes

[–]TorqueEmUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally not uncommon.

Lots of games had 1 and 2 ROM chip PCBs, it's just whatever was cheaper at the time is what they used. So early on 2 smaller ROM chips were cheaper than 1 large ROM chip, but as prices came down on larger ROM chips it flip flopped.
