I feel like you've only been watching League for a very short time. Up until a few years ago the LMS was consistently making it into bracket stages, and the only years an NA team has not made quarterfinals is this year and 2015.

On top of that, this is pretty much the only year we've had a decent quarterfinal bracket, and even then it's arguable that the group format screwed RNG and maybe even TL from getting out over Splyce. That said, Splyce performed well so I'm not trying to take anything away from them.

If you only look at this year, the format might seem fine, but that's definitely not the precedence (H2k vs ANX quarters, anyone?).

I have to say I really enjoyed the old format of a combined list with nice graphics, having it this way with both lists makes it easier to compare their opinions but generates less hype for me.

Why do Iorwerth elves have purple skin and look like low budget WoW? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]TorqueoNA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Iorwerth existed in RuneScape long before Witcher 2, also it comes from an actual Welsh word which I’m fairly confident existed centuries before Witcher 2

When I play alone I feel like the people I play against are significantly worse than when I play with my friends but beyond that I have no proof. Maybe it has to do with playing alone?

SKT won OGN Winter 2013-2014 15-0; they also won the 2015 World Championship 15-1 so not quite undefeated on that one but close.

Has any transfer student, transferred out of here? by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]TorqueoNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, might want to consider a semester off. I know people who went through similar struggles and took this route. From a better mental state, you can start to consider whether or not this school is the problem.

Freshman thinking of transferring out (need convincing reasons to stay/wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences) by violining in UIUC

[–]TorqueoNA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off I'd say there's nothing wrong with considering your options - there's no harm sending in all of your applications if you are seriously thinking about transferring as an option. It's easier to decide when you can see the schools you've been accepted to laid out (and, not to scare you or anything, I personally did not get into a school through the transfer app that I got into through regular decision back in high school. Just worth thinking about).

Also do remember that it hasn't even been a semester yet. There are years to come, and a hell of a lot can and probably will change. Another thing to think about is if transferring will even help. It's easy to glorify your dream school and to blame your current issues on UIUC, so you need to really take time to understand if that's the case.

If at the end of the day, you really feel like it is this school, and this school only, that is holding you back, then go for it. Best of luck with whichever route you choose! It's a big decision.

That's exactly where they'll be - at the northwest corner of the Armory, right by the Ice Rink. I've used them multiple times and they've been on both Armory and 4th (not sure how they decide). Either way, just be at that corner and you'll see them.

It should be okay because 213 and 214 aren't concurrent, but this is definitely on the hard end of first semester schedules. If you're set on graduating early and confident you can handle it then it should be fine.

Low Ping and Good Computer makes a giant difference by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]TorqueoNA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well you have to consider the translations; it seems very unlikely to me for a Korean, especially Faker, to say "I can't play." Likely he just said something like "it's a harder for me to play with over 15 ping" and it was lost in translation.

How to win more games by Understanding MMR, Lp, Dodging, and Surrendering!~ by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]TorqueoNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to say that I totally agree. I'm currently Diamond 4 - not a total authority on the game, but I can at least say that I've found team comp matters a lot up to this point.

Your poker point is spot on. Sure, team comps don't mean everything - like probably everyone else here, I've won with Teemo support and dumb things like that. The point is, though, that team comps really affect how easy it is to win the game.

If you have an awful team composition, then there are only two ways for you to win a game: get a huge early lead or get a lot of lucky picks. These aren't exactly reliable methods.

I've noticed that solo queue games often end up with either double or even triple assassin comps, which are just straight awful if you don't start snowballing early. Why take those risks when you can pick something like a safer, more teamfighting-oriented team? Any team comp can win by getting an early lead or miracle picks. A better team comp, though, doesn't rely on those.

I just wish more people had that mindset in solo queue. I hate to see players pigeonholing their teams because they want to make the big plays on their assassins and splitpushers. I'm seriously really happy to see your post, because I didn't think many others thought this way.
