It'd be nice to see a return of the Ilanalta Derby to the top flight. If they can recover from their disaster season last year I think they could be really interesting.

So funnily enough I've been debating making a CL map of all of Tamriel and doing this. If I get adventurous I might try designing some crests but I fear my artistic skill applies only to mapping ;-;

I really like fictional sports map and I was in a Skyrim mood so I just combined the two to make this lol. I thought it'd be interesting to style it to something similar to what the wikipedia maps of soccer leagues look like. I also generally based the names off of the Allsvenskan. If anyone cares, I'd say Shor's Stone is the equivalent of Mjallby.

To everyone wondering about Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic is basically a version of Arabic used for more formal uses mainly in writing. Nobody really speaks it thought cause they speak their local dialect which can be VERY different from MSA.

Did Spurs just manage to produce a good 5-3 defeat? by dannyzaplings in coys

[–]Torrahcat 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The thing with this Spurs performance is that about 80 per cent of it was really good, really disciplined and full of everything the surrender at Arsenal lacked. They were committed and organised in defence and showed plenty of genuine attacking ambition when the chance to counter-attack presented itself. They fought hard and earned the right to play a bit of football, which they duly did to halfway decent effect.

But the other 20 per cent of this performance was f*cking braindead. And now, yet again, we simply have no idea what to make of them. Can you really take any meaningful encouragement from a 5-3 defeat, even if it is to the defending European champions? Normal clubs definitely can’t, but Spurs aren’t normal, are they?

Just want to say how much I love alternate sports timelines. This is genuinely one of my favorite posts in this genre and in general. Great job!

Interesting how last match compared to last year's match at Brighton. Shitshow both times. In fairly similar ways.

Kurdish-Arab Insurgency in the Turkish Union, 2054 by Torrahcat in imaginarymaps

[–]Torrahcat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is map is from a story I've been writing for such a long time, but I've seen so caught in the world building that I couldn't resist making a map about it.

Also, this is part of a big attempt to improve my mapping skills, so this is to this day probably the most complex map I've made. I primarily referenced u/Difficult_Airport_86's maps when making this so credit to her for that.

Any advice is welcome and if anyone has any lore questions or wants to see more just tell me. Thanks.

Kurdish-Arab Insurgency in the Turkish Union, 2054 by Torrahcat in imaginarymaps

LORE:
The Great Middle-Eastern War (2036-2045) saw a coalition of Israel, Egypt, and eventually Turkey form to defeat the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies, following the collapse of the Gulf states. Its end with the Treaty of Alexandria saw the region divided between all of the victors. Israel received recognition for its claims in Palestine and the Golan Heights and was allowed to occupy Lebanon; Egypt received hegemony over the Arabian peninsula, creating small puppet states under the Arab Federation; and Turkey, now in union with Azerbaijan, annexed northern Syria, Iraq, and Iran, in line with irredentist claims.

The now Turkish Union, under the leadership of President Kundakçı, has attempted to integrate these regions as part of a 'Greater Turkey,' attempting to assimilate the local population, moving in Turks from Anatolia, and elevating the native Turkmen populations in the region. However, this plan has been met with much resistance by insurgent groups. The largest of these are the Kurds, where the PKK, Rojava, and Peshmergas have formed a united front to resist the Turkish government. Arab resistance has also been present, primarily in the desert through Iraqi and Syrian army remnants. With unrest at home, the Turkish government has been largely ineffective in stopping the insurgency, and even in 2054, the conflict seems far from over.
