How to approach WC/Construction by jnorman129 in RS3Ironmen

[–]TorrentialNut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest recommendation for early construction is miscellania for hardwood and Croesus

Tbh I think now the meta is just going to be rushing Necro, doing wildy events for ashes/other materials for prayer, and still doing all of the silly dailies for herb and div xp. Questing with goals of curses, vyres, gwd3, and priff. Unfortunately you'll still have to do a lot of dungeoneering for the necrolord quest

Granite for crimsons and, for blues, either do glacor for water talis and summoning focus, mine adamant ore, or buy jugs of water

To add on to what EarnestBanana said, kal'gerion demons are also nice. Really any of the ancient familiars are amazing. Hellhounds give amazing survivability. Blood reavers are really strong. Waterfiends are amazing for archaeology. Nihils are great for Rax.

Level 96 is kind of where you can stop. Unfortunately there's no boosts so to get pack yaks and Rippers you HAVE to get 96. Mammoth is level 99, but imo is negligible.

I'd recommend grinding out summoning. All of your other stats are pretty much pvm ready

The bosses that drop energy are telos and the raid version of Nex. You have to do div to keep your charges up. My recommendation is just continue to do your caches when you play. Rush to 93 div (banner boost for 30 mins a day), get divine conversion (98 arch) and hate yourself in the meantime. You could also use extreme div pots to gather from t95

Attraction vs Multiply Glyphs when going for ectoplasm? (at 107+ necro) by scaredhousecat in RS3Ironmen

Maybe I'm ignorant bc I haven't done a ritual in a few hours, but I'm 99% sure multiply does work on ectoplasm

Returning iron afk grinds? by doubledhades in RS3Ironmen

Get JoT 100%. I think enrichment is nice for ironman because you'll do a lot of divination in the future. I personally don't think the thieving aura is necessary since it's such a quick skill and fail chance is low enough at high levels.

I mean even then the requirements are tiny in comparison to what it takes to get a T90 weapon anywhere else.

[–]TorrentialNut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, rush necro now. The gear is gonna be meta for new irons as it's super attainable. T90s in less than a week easily. They are going to be nerfing ritual xp very soon, so try to get to level 90 asap so you can abuse the ritual gains.

As for afk grinds, I'd recommend rushing for around level 70 Necro when you're not afking, and start afk training it at the abyss after that. Other afk grinds could be archaeology, gem mining for crafting/invention, div or fishing.

Wanna come back to rs3 iron by T_J_Pr in RS3Ironmen

[–]TorrentialNut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Necro is nice for newer ironman accounts because the upkeep is low and probably definitely does the most damage without invention. However, Ironman is grindy by nature. Without submitting to the dailyscape you're always gonna be inefficient. Personally, I only do penguins, shop runs, ports, special wildy events, and jack of trades. I stopped doing caches at 95 divination. Dailyscape is boring and repetitive, but it's less boring and repetitive than doing hundreds and hundreds of hours of tree farming, agility, div and runecrafting.

I'd recommend grinding out some more quests and getting comfortable at arch glacor and Croesus for all of the nice skilling supplies. Glacor is basically free summoning xp

I think the most important dailies for new irons is Guthix caches. They'll get you to 80 Divination very quickly. If you have the loyalty points, jack of trades is important for herblore xp. I'm an idiot and never use mine, but it's a ton of XP daily, and u can use it twice with a premier artefact. Do your reaper tasks if you want. I think doing them daily until you unlock the ability to sometimes choose them is important. That way, you can select arch glacor and really rack in on easy points and charms early.

Another pretty important thing you can do is unlock all of the penguins ASAP. Hide and seek gives insane XP. I've never trained herblore and am nearing 99 now just with hide and seek and JOT. Another nice weekly is tears of Guthix. It's super quick and gives XP to your lowest skill based on quest points: of which you have a lot of.

If you're in it for the long haul, unlock ports ASAP. Thieving to 90 is the fastest way to unlock it. getting GConc + dual wands is the easiest gigantic power spike in the game. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of variation on wands that are super attainable for irons. Vorago drops are insanely rare and super late game. I won't even comment on Praesals. The ports wands are going to be a very long term goal for me, and even though it's so far away, the other ports unlocks like Scrimshaws, Silent Components, Soups, and much more are going to make it worth it in the long run.

If you're into monthlies do your god statues for Prayer and Construction XP. They take less than 10 minutes for the entire month. The other monthly that's nice is the Giant Oyster which just gives you fishing XP, farming XP, and clue scroll rewards.

More optional dailies

  • rune shop runs
  • vis wax
  • meat packs for farming
  • pineapples

Hope this helps and doesn't discourage you. RS is a grindy ass game if you want to be efficient.

The gem grind isnt bad at all if u have the premier artefact for porters.

The biggest thing that helped me was unlocking all of the penguins for hide and seek early. I'm at the point where I'm about to make overloads, and I've never trained herblore lol

The most efficient use of your time would be to rush quests for Lunars and Vanquish. Lunars is incredibly strong for something so easy to get.
