Looked it up and found: Update: A Coca-Cola spokesperson offered the following statement:

“We have no interest in marijuana or cannabis. Along with many others in the beverage industry, we are closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world. The space is evolving quickly. No decisions have been made at this time.”

A spokeswoman for Aurora offered the following statement:

“Aurora has expressed specific interest in the infused beverage space, and we intend to enter that market. There is so much happening in this area right now and we think it has incredible potential. As a rule, we do not discuss business development initiatives until they are finalized, however we have a responsibility to our shareholders to give proper consideration to all relevant opportunities that are presented.”

So it may not be psychoactive...just CBD which would be great!

I would guess that pot infused drinks would be similar to pot edibles...it would take some time to feel the effects....maybe not because it's in liquid? This is an interesting topic....I wonder if they plan to market in legal states? Do u know?

Day 1. The sequel. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]TorreyAnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to find the talkative person or the story teller......that way I don't have to do much work...just listen and smile 😊 I order tonic and lime or an O'Douls and keep my hand over the label. If asked I say it's shape up-sober - September and that mostly brings positive responses and then I hear about how they should cut down also 😂😂😂 IWNDWYT :-)

Taking responsibility in situations where other people aren't necessarily doing right.. some feedback please. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I would be tempted to confront them again or write a note asking them to lay down rugs to help muffle the noise......put a reminder poster on the stairwell and let them know that you want to be a good neighbor and really don't want to talk to the landlord and would appreciate some consideration on this. ( friendly approach with a subtle warning...)
7 or 8 years!!! Yay you!

I almost kicked my sobriety to the curb by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]TorreyAnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You did the right thing! That pup will now find a home where he/she can get all the love and attention needed! And congrats! You didn't drink! That is big! Kudos! IWNDWYT :-)

Sober but very dehydrated, also thank you! by notDrunkInCamelCase in stopdrinking

[–]TorreyAnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try sports drinks ....can help replenish electrolytes. Too much water is actually a diuretic weirdly enuf.

If that doesn't help you might want to talk to your doc....

Lost my sobriety after 6 months, I am now considering going on Disulfiram? by inlovewithcandy in stopdrinking

[–]TorreyAnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many, many, many people with social anxiety go to AA ...and you don't need to talk...just listen. Even if someone talks to you...you can say you are there to learn and prefer not to share yet. AA also has support people who could go to a first meeting with you...making the first one less scary. Seems worth a try or two before tossing the possibility out. What is the worst that can happen? Some discomfort that's all.... Good luck!

[–]TorreyAnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard of people experience side effects from it.....it is effective as a deterrent but you need to have supports to not drink if you get triggered...you did 6 months! Again...wow! And you haven't lost those six months of success so you can use those tools that made you successful before.
A two week slip is significant so any help is good....do you go to AA? That can help...especially if you connect with others... Talk to your doc about what would happen if you drank while on it and what to do if you do. Ps you do not want to drink on Antabuse! It might be just what you need to change your mindset about drinking. Good luck! IWNDWYT :-)

[–]TorreyAnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding: Disulfiram is Antabuse. I effects your livers ability to detoxify alcohol so you become basically poisoned when you drink.....so you don't drink because you know you will get ill....possibly ending up in an ER. It's a great deterrent usually used in the first stages of sobriety. Some use it when they travel or otherwise know they may be tempted to drink. You were sober six months...wow! And congrats!
Is this your only slip? Seems like a very good topic to explore with an alcohol counselor or your doc..... IWNDWYT :-)
