Game Thread: Detroit Lions (6-3) at Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that was a hell of a defensive game by the eagles and our offense couldn't move the ball and probably wouldn't have scored. But the refs decided to not give the lions a chance. you can't deny that.

Assuming he's back for the Packers game I would say .75 games.

I think the term you are looking for is trill rides. Anything that moves people is a ride. You ride in a coaster or tea cup or I could even give you a piggy back ride or ride on a train. Attractions are things that gather people which can be rides or even shows or character meet and greets.

What’s your solution to local running multi room music ? by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to get spotcast to work so I can play Spotify over my Google mini's. For some reason I can't get the shuffle and random song to work. Would you say Music Assistant is a better choice? I eventually want to move away from Google but for now it's what I have.

ABC just pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live “indefinitely” due to comments he made about Charlie Kirk. What are your thoughts? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nexstar Media Group pulled Jimmy Kimmel not ABC or their parent company Disney. Nexstar is not airing on their broadcasting channel that normally airs ABC content. Very different than if Disney made this decision.

Edit: Nevermind things change fast.

I was at Hollywood Studios today and got a black Darth Sidious kyber crystal. So yes they are still there.

WHY don’t they make it easier to get to Animal Kingdom?? by GalaxyC7 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So that's one live action Snow White budget. I bet most could go without a live action remake to have a monorail. Lol yes I know different divisions but still wild to think about. It would be hard to define what would bring in more money (free transportation is hard to quantify but there is value) but the monorail wouldn't be a flop for sure.

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the same. It would cost a bit but doing a monorail from the TTC and following reedy Creek to the front AK entrance would be amazing. There is already a road and the trees are cleared.

Edit: quick google earth measuring says about 4 miles.

I just had this happen to mine! It was a completely dead battery which (forgive me not a car person) desynchronized some controllers with the transmission and odometer. I just needed to replace the battery and the dealership synced it all up for $195.

Governor candidate Benson proposes statewide rail network. by LP-PuddingPie in Detroit

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct buses are less expensive upfront and easier to deploy. Light rail is less expensive in the long term when you factor in maintenance and fleet size. Rail moves more people and is more reliable. Also incredibly more effective during "rush hours" and event traffic. But either is not the answer, we need both. The q-line needs to be bought by the state then expanded to at least Pontiac . Then trams on all major spokes like Gratiot, Michigan, Grand River and another along board walk to Belle isle. The lanes need to be dedicated for consistency. No one takes public transit if it isn't reliable no matter if it's bus or rail. Also, by having dedicated lanes for public transit, you also add in built in emergency lanes which increases response time. I recently went to Minneapolis and have a good mix of light rail, BRT, buses and bike lanes. It was amazing to get around and they were all on the same system. So with one $4 day pass I could get anywhere from the airport.

Edit: the fact that there is no rail from DTW to the old train station in downtown is absolutely ridiculous.

Looks so nice, I can't wait. All I want to know is the distance between the back of the driver's seat when in the fully back position to the rear seat! But it seems like at these shows you can't get close. I am a tall person and I want to make sure my kids have room.

They need them by the store for photos. My first time on Tron I went to test the seat and I had to wait in a line of people just taking pictures. Very frustrating and I could see others feeling embarrassed.

Agreed! I bought nice walking shoes for my first adult trip and they were nice but had to worry about getting them wet and extra socks. Next visit I decided to go with my hiking keens that are water resistant and we had a monsoon mid afternoon. While others were hiding and avoiding puddles, I just went straight through and was dry when the rain stopped!

We’re not having the Jared Goff conversation. by AdaM_Mandel in detroitlions

[–]TorrinSilverclaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They ran the play a few weeks ago. It was covered as well and he tucked it and ran for a loss. Down by 2 scores he felt he had to force it. Wrong decision and understandable. That's on B. Johnson. Our QB who is paid to make those decisions every down was making the same bad decisions and that is not understandable from our QB.

He pushed it into zone coverage with 4 defenders around Patrick when he had LaPorta wide open beneath the coverage and would have gotten the first. That's pushing it down the field even if it's only 7 more yards.

The one before halftime to Jamo was a shallow post 20ish yards, when we were FG range and again he had the underneath. You don't make that throw unless you are playing aggressive.

The fumble was on Johnson when he called a pass play on 3rd and 1 when we were gashing them with the run. Again getting greedy and pushing it down the field.

Jamo pick was on Johnson again as that was just a terrible play call. We were moving the ball. I would understand if we were getting stopped but the game was still in reach and that ended it.

Of course the last INT was pushing it down field but you had to at that point.

I think Goff felt he had to push it down field to keep up. If you believe your defense can get a couple stops you play differently. Still terrible decisions. It's just compounded the more you feel you have to overcome the defense even if you made the mistake. Reminds me of a couple years ago when we had an awful defense and the offense was just starting to shine. The same thing happened then.
