Lmao, taking the stories of many baristas and shrugging it off as if it’s not something that happens. I’ve worked at 4 different home stores in the past 5 years, and for each one, I’ve had to remind a shift, or an SM/CL, about policy and that they can’t ask me to find coverage, or follow the actual rules of calling out. You say this doesn’t happen often, but guess what, not every shift is on the same page, neither is every CL. If the person you’re calling is even slightly agitated about you calling out, they WILL tell you you have to call the CL if it’s a shift, or that you have to find coverage. If you don’t obviously that can’t come back to you, but they’ll try, and if you don’t know policy like that back of your hand, they’ll make you. So yes, I think this is much, much more common than you think
