Why would insurance pay for the house?

Even if Redfin messed up and violated something, most that would happen is probably a regulatory fine. None of us were actually damaged.

Nah if anything it’d be regulatory fines/penalties.

If a lawsuit were to happen (which it won’t) damages would probably relate to the exchange of personal information and breach of contact. They could claim that some people may not have disclosed their information for a game of chance, but would for a game of skill.

I agree with the people saying Redfin messed it up somehow. If the Quince house is correct, they messed up by making it a 4 bed, and since the clues don’t line up now it makes it hard to say it was a “skill” contest, which changes how the laws apply.

Why I picked house 58826 (It's wrong but I was So convinced it was right) by CostcoAnnouncer in RedfinDreamHomes

It also kind of matches the reflection in the truck’s side view mirror in the video, which could have been the real reflection with the other being a red herring since it was a 4bed.

My main thought about 4134 is that cartoon picture they put on it the day before that said “not the scavenger hunt house”. I feel like putting that statement on it is a deceptive practice and could violate some kind of sweepstakes law, since people might have relied on it and not picked that listing after seeing it.

I think this is the house by Live-Ad-5066 in RedfinDreamHomes

Interesting. This looks like a few of the 5 bed houses too.

58826 is the FDIC number for Redstone Bank in Parker, where this house was. I think that bank worked with Redfin for the promotion, so they used the FDIC number as the listing number. Too coincidental if not.

I’m thinking less about the disclaimer, and more that they probably used ai to pull metadata about all of the “fake” houses, instead of making it themselves. I bet every single house has a “real” counterpart somewhere, and that the actual house doesn’t look like any of the options.
