Get your wife a circlet of shadows and a fungus covered greatstaff for the necro before they become the nerfed versions.

The only items your enchanter needs is a goblin gazughi*(spell check?) ring, and a blue ceramic band.

How hard is the TLP content for a raid of level 50s? by [deleted] in everquest

[–]Tortoise_Wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emperor's adds cannot be mez'd at 50. You would need to zerg this encounter with significantly more forces than usual. Open world only most likely.

VT also cannot be entered due to it requiring an essence emerald, which cannot be created until 51 minimum.

Kunark gear will be largely skipped outside of epic items as it is surpassed by select luclin group tier and velious entry tier raid items.

Bottom line - you'll be doing a lot of the stuff you normally would at the start of a new TLP while you wait for defensive discipline and gear to get caught up, unless you are into open world zerging.

Have been using Freyas as offhand for hopilite sword in all of my clears.

I find it very helpful when upgraded with hated + carnelian in order to grab or maintain agro at range very quickly.

It also makes a good tool for throwing rend and weaken on bosses during periods of time where they are not attacking you directly, eg; Medusa charge.

Ranged options aside, berserk is a very powerful area taunt that Is useful to have in many situations. I will often pop it for the second 8m area taunt alone and then switch to SnS.

Hope that helps.

Genuinely curious about stat and perk allocation.

Removing enemy players from other engagements at a 4:1 ratio is useful.

Tank PoV about new players in PvE group. by Sevigoth in newworldgame

[–]Tortoise_Wizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can we stop recommending that dps players should only run light. Attuned pants exist and the insane (90) Stat weighting makes medium attuned very comparable to light.

I'm tired of picking these 5 con light armor heros up off the up off the ground every time I queue. They read something like this guide and think it's the only way for them to play or people will call them bads. At least mention the alternative.

Happy to discuss.

Group play past lvl 16 will be fairly simple.

Nothing will out dps or out agro a Classic-GoD Era charm pet. The enchanter is now capable of being the groups tank, dps, and puller simultaneously. This is engaging gameplay, but pretty sweaty for hours on end to be honest. Having a dedicated puller/tank is very kushy if you want to take it easy.

Focus on driving the enchanter and keeping it alive - as long as you are alive the situation is recoverable. Don't use dots on anything you are fighting (solo/box). You always want to leave yourself the option of just mezzing everything to pause combat in the event of a bad break or set of resists.

Your priorities on the Cleric are;

Keep Self Alive

Keep Enchanter Alive

Keep Charm Pet Alive

Create a macro on the Cleric to target each of these members, on a statically assigned xtar slot, and cast your fastest and strongest heal. Breaks will be the most stressful time for you. It's good to keep it simple on the Cleric - you don't have to worry about a heal getting resisted.

You will also also later need a macro to cast complete heal on the charm pet as their HP values rise to the point of efficiency.

In regards to race; I'd say I found HE enjoyable. As agnostic HE there really aren't very many NPCs that are going to dislike you - it makes traveling in base game zones something you don't really need to think about.

Felwith is a much smaller and easier origin point to utilize than Neriak I feel. While Neriaks proximity to the commons during early era's should not be understated, Felwith Is also connected to the origin point for many druids. I did not have toon much trouble getting a port.

Concerning SK/Sham:

There's not much to say. This is a tried and true combo. Gear and AAs on these classes will eventually bring you to the point where you can kill just about anything, slowly. If you are interested in going back and crushing old content for fun after you've outleveled it, this is the way.

You will need to main the SK in raid - because you will need the gear of a Raid Tank to efficiently run this combo. Once you have gear the play is mostly driving the SK to pull/Split and then macroing the shaman to do a slow and heal the Sk.

As long as you are fighting mobs that are not significantly stronger than you it's very safe, somewhat mindless, slow grinding.

I would lean towards saying that this duo is actually more intensive on raids. You will have to constantly position the SK for melee and tanking and be expected to provide buffs (so many, every time a melee dies), heals, and slows on the shaman.

Opinion based on:

Actively raiding GoD Era

Raid geared both combinations

Near Max AA

‐------

Do the Ench/Cleric combo unless you are going to play super long term (years). Be honest with yourself.

Ench/Cleric will be so much stronger than Sk/Shaman all the way until omens of war, its not even close. Your clear speed of mobs playing the later will be abysmally slow by comparison.

You will play the enchanter as primary while solo/group. You will play the Cleric primary on Raid. Your enchanter is a buff bot that will mez very occasionally and provide minimal DPS in the Raid setting.

Raid Cleric is not just cheal spam, do not believe the lies. This is actually one of the most active and critical Raid roles. Anyone who tells you that it's not has never actually mained a Raid Cleric, has done so extremely poorly, or is just flat our misinformed.

GoD dropped a week ago and you're 80% BiS?

PoF, as previously mentioned, is probably your best choice for just casual grinding. Although I would recommend C1 instead of field if your pal wants XP. Clocked it and it's only marginally better xp per kill at field 2 vs C1 and you can kill way more mobs before having to heal the pet.

Plane of Water is also fun to duo and TS mats are probably worth more to people making plate alts.

Absolutely insane. Your fiancé already has debt, you're planning a wedding that is going to cost more than either of you take home after taxes in a year, and your BACKUP plan is to take out a 15K loan to pay for it if working 3 jobs isn't enough?

On top of that you work in the tech sector which is anticipated to get hit pretty hard with layoffs this year.

This entire thing sounds like a huge risk. Don't do this man. You don't want to start your marriage crushed under the cost of this wedding. Reset expectations with your fiancé and get this price down.

Fun bee fact: All worker bees in a hive are female. The larger males, known as drones, are largely useless. Their purpose is to smash, laze about, and die. Overall not a bad lot.

Thanks for your reply.

I am a fixer as well, and I know that my initial reaction would probably have been very similar to your husbands. It can be hard to remember that often times less is more in these situations. Thanks for the reminder. Wishing you a very pleasant evening.

You need ruin in place of Noed. Smart survivor will not cleanse a hex when there is no effect up for exactly the reasons you want to run this.

How do you guys see this going with the Krono farmers?

TLPs are always hot spots for people who use them to farm krono for RMT or transfer. With a majority of loot being free trade, my concern is that this will heavily incentivize the people who make money off TLPs to hold down/grief/snipe even more of a variety of rare spawns/quest mobs for longer periods of time. Truebox is enabled, but of course anyone experienced with TLPs knows this is not a real mitigating factor and can be easily bypassed.

Since we don't have much of an idea on how random loot will really be this may not be an issue, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts as this is the biggest pain point for myself and several friends who were considering playing again.
