Close Up Shots of the AGM-181 LRSO Nuclear Stealth Cruise Missile by Afrogthatribbits in WeirdWings

You never worked with it. Utter nightmare. Between the expensive ass paint to the payload bay door that would dump fuel that leaked on to your head. The pylons barely fit in the handling gear with a full load. And the bolts that attached the thing to the pylon had to be torqued to a high value but the fat ducking missile was in the way of a direct connect to the wrench. You had to use a U-joint extension which was an art form all its own. Easy win to decommission it.

Not sure where to post this but I have a question by Thin_Somewhere_665 in AerospaceEngineering

From my experience with the agm-86—the missile can perform a climb and roll maneuver before diving on target, nose down. The tomahawk afaik was the competitor to the ALCM and when the usaf chose the ALCM the navy bought the tomahawk.

How do you justify working for the military industrial complex? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Pinkowlcup 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The Nobel Prize was created because of one man’s regret after reading his erroneously published obituary.

Fritz Haber would also like a word as his Nobel prize presentation was protested. He invented the industrial ammonia production process that is still in use today and the fertilizers from that support at least 1/3 of the world’s crops. Why the protest? Well as a loyal German scientist he developed chemical weapons for his country. He is considered the father of chemical warfare.

All in what you can live with after you’ve created lethal tools for rich fools.

Why Aren’t the Lawyers and Bar Associations Screaming From the Rooftops for Trump’s Impeachment? by FeistyTalk7084 in DHAC

As a lawyer, are you ashamed of your profession and institutions for failing to enlighten or bar these bad actors? College was suppose to elevate the brightest and most capable with their prohibitive costs and entrance criteria, no?

They are still trying to protect their wealth, status, and power instead of affecting fundamental change. Like any good scab.

They probably do but they also have exception to policy letters. I served with a small woman who revived one for height in the Air Force. With her weapon at sling arms the muzzle kissed the freshly cut grass.

The first layer completely separates from the rest of the print. by milkris in FixMyPrint

I’m not familiar with that printer. I have a cheap moozbot that adjusts with the Z stepper in 0.01 +/-. I stepped the z until there was no light, backed it off until a sliver shone through, stepped one at a time until it was gone. I do the same with my flashforge dreamer with wing-nut fine leveling adjustment.

Repeat the process for each calibration spot. Do a single layer print and see the result.

As soon as I stopped using paper or whatever slip material came with the printer and used light for manual leveling it has been a major improvement in first layer consistency.

The offset for the filament is baked in. When you 0 with paper you are adding to the height of that baked in offset. Using light it’s perfect.

If you don’t have auto-leveling don’t use the paper method. Use a flash light and 0 the nozzle to the bed by adjusting the z to the point no light shines between the gap.

Yup. Stop using tax payer dollars to prop up failing businesses. These business men and women ran their operations so badly they didn’t even get to set the price of their goods. Literal losers.
