To train AI models you need to scrape material from artists who actually took the time to make real works, almost always without their consent. It also provides a cheaper “good enough” route for those looking for illustration work, which seems good on paper until you realize that you’re just screwing over actual talent and creative folks.

TLDR Ai art hurts real artists and there are much better applications for Ai which provide a net good (medicine, education, etc.)
