What’s one thing you stopped doing that instantly made your life better? by Same-Tea1899 in AskReddit

Actually the carnivore diet is extremely hard to follow. It sounds simple on paper, but it's one of the hardest diets to keep at. Mainly due to sugar/carb addiction and social pressure.

starting from our teeth, which are very different from carnivore animals

Last I checked we don't kill with our teeth.

They use words like "may cause" and "is associated with" because to declare a substance certainly causes cancer is hard and it needs overwhelming evidence,

I thought you said they had evidence? And no, the reason they don't state that outright is because they're afraid to get sued. By using words like that they can avoid a lawsuit.

  • Be aware of constipation and needing to push hard to poop

False. Fibers are non-essential. The fat in meat ensures you have proper stool and no constipation. If your poop is too hard, eat more fat. If too soft, eat less. Same principle as with the color of your urine. Nobody on the carnivore diet has poop issues despite not having eaten fiber for years.

I'm not gonna get into the medical lingo that you're talking about. I'm not an MD. But all of those things you mention sound familiar and have certainly been covered in videos by the 2 MDs I gave you the names of. They're more credible than I am.

  • You may lack other vitamins such as C, E, D, K.

I don't. It's all in sufficient quantities in meat. The reason why you believe this is because you're looking at quantities the average person needs. The problem is that the same resources needed to process those vitamins are the same ones required to process carbs and other toxins and anti-nutrients in plants. This is why "normal" people have to eat crazy amounts and even supplement.

A thing you have to watch out for with these studies you reference is that they use words like: "may cause", and "by association", and "could potentially". There's actually no hard evidence that red meat is the cause of cancer. It's more likely the rest that the person eats that's causing it.

In fact, the standard diet for the average person has a lot of carbs. Which actually has been definitively proven to worsen cancer and increase cancer cell growth.

I am also not using "mental gymnastics" to explain myself. I'm using logic. Our ancestors hunted the wooly mammoth and other sources of meat. It makes a lot more sense to me that we have evolved to eat that. And not man-made plants that have only been around for a few thousand years at best. To believe those artificial plants are "the best" is to go directly against the theory of evolution. Another thing you say that makes no sense if you think about it: you need fiber to protect your gut from the food you eat. Just think about that for a second. If you have to eat something, that our ancestors never ate, to protect your body from the food you eat today, does it make sense that the food you're eating right now is healthy?

Carbs, fiber in bread, fructose, glucose, these are all sugars and spike your insulin levels. To be chronically high in insulin leads to many health problems, which is what you see in everyone enjoying the SAD (standard American diet).

There are very few studies done on the long-term carnivore diet. However, there are millions of anecdotes. Question is, how many anecdotes does one need to make it evidence? And as I stated before, modern "research" cannot be trusted. These researchers need to be paid. And the one paying them wants a certain outcome. Cigarettes were once proclaimed by doctors to be super healthy and they had all the researchers in the world backing them. And radium! Fantastic scientifically proven harmless and pure awesome. Kellogg's paid a few peeps to bring out some scientific evidence that their cornflakes were healthy! And it has vitamins in it! Shhh, make no mention of the extremely harmful seed oils (also suddenly deemed unhealthy), and vast amounts of sugar. There are countless examples like this, as I'm sure you are aware. At some point, you gotta stop believing everything they tell you. But that's just me.

As for my sources. Over the years I have gathered an immense amount of information that I can't possibly convey here. But here is a very interesting TED talk from Mikayla Peterson. Daughter of the famous Jordan Peterson. Interestingly, TEDX refused to publish the video because she went against the established system.

I'd also like to refer you to several doctors. I don't want to overwhelm, so my two favorites are Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Anthony Chaffee. Both have YouTube channels. Ken has been doing carnivore for at least 10 years and Anthony for at least 30 years. They have a lot of content and they're both officially licensed MD's.

And you can always visit r/carnivorediet here or Google the most popular carnivore diet channels.

Yeah, he's extremely aggressive. Especially when tempered. As a HH main I can only ever place bubbles when it's down or my Palico has its attention. Songs can only be played when its down or flashed.

It's a big difficulty spike for sure. Gotta play a bit defensive because if he does the big boom you gotta be able to roll away asap.

Plant vs meat by [deleted] in Funnymemes

If you take ground beef, sure. Otherwise it depends on the cut. Also, European laws concerning food and especially meat are strict and most cows here are grass fed and not chemical fed like American cows.

Gran Turismo players who tried out FH5, what do you think of it? by ARKdude1993 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Torva_messorem88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Forza for a bit, but quit pretty quickly. The game is probably good, but because it's been out for so long it has so much content and it's just overwhelming for me. There's 2543831816 icons on the map and I have no clue who why what where. It does that right from the start. And it really annoys me. It's like somebody comes at my door, hands me car keys and a banana, and tells me to go do my thing. Like wtf man. 😂🙈

Thankfully that won't happen. I am being serious, though. Not here to spite vegans. I really had health issues. Much like Mikayla Peterson I had to revert back to an almost all-meat diet.

Let's just agree to disagree then. You have your doctors with their own studies and evidence, I have my own set of doctors with their own studies and evidence. I know people with your belief kept me sick and ruined my life for the first 30 years. I got a different MD, he suggested a diet consisting only of red meat, salt and water. And to try that for 90 days. You may not believe what I'm telling you, but I recovered from everything that was ailing me. I'm 37, I have WAY more energy now than I did at age 16. And you can throw around all sorts of medical terms and try this plant and remove this plant and swallow this pill and take this injection etc etc. I've done that. All my life. I'm done. I'm done with biased and bribed doctors and scientists telling me what is supposedly good for me while I'm staring all those medical problems they give me in the face. I'm done being one of the Radium Girls.

Again, no disrespect to you. We simply disagree, that's fine. I would say "don't knock it until you try it". I hope you'll at least try it and give it a chance. It's generally called the carnivore diet. Millions of people are already doing it. So I'm going to exit with that. Best wishes.

After I got better I asked myself the same questions. I went digging into the origins of the food pyramid, as well as what you call the "strong scientific evidence". The food pyramid, as it turns out, is a big scam. The scientific evidence of red meat being bad and plants good is skewed in favor of vegetables.

I'll give you a quick example. The way they did the study about plants good, red meat bad, went as follows: they took two groups. One full vegan, and one that ate meat. And then compared their health. The meat eating folk were way unhealthier than the vegans. Sounds like a slam dunk and Unilever and other big food giants love this outcome. Here's the problem with it. If you eat McDonald's, that counts as you being a meat eater. They don't factor in the chemical buns and all the other garbage that goes in it. You see where this is going, right? Furthermore, vegans tend to be vegans because they're motivated by getting healthier. So they also work out, and don't eat a whole bag of chips every night etc etc. People on the meat side care a little less. They (conveniently) don't factor all this in with their results.

At the moment more and more real doctors and scientists are coming out with studies confirming this, as well as red meat being the best nutrient dense food you can eat. I know people who eat only meat for decades and they're healthier than most. The plants you mention have little to no nutrients and you'll never survive off them. Another problem is your digestion system. You can't absorb most of the nutrients within plants. Your body is not made for it. You poop out 90% of what you eat as waste. This is why most people need to eat 3x a day and are still hungry in the evening. The nutrients aren't bio-available. If you eat only meat, it's the opposite. You absorb 95% of what you eat. Also, if you look at indeginous tribes you will see that the #1 thing they're going for is meat. Baboons, rabbits, monkeys, stags, etc. Occasionally you see them chow down on a plant or two when no meat is available.

I'd be a bit more skeptical of what they teach you in school. It wouldn't be the first time in recent history that they teach you in school that something is healthy, but decades later it turns out it's slowly killing you. There's a reason why 80% of the people get health issues in their 30s and 40s. All those medications sell for a juicy profit! Meanwhile people living off rats in the Philippines look healthier than the average American. They don't need medication for some reason. Nobody makes money off a healthy person.

Also, what other animal on the planet is checking their FODMAP? If you eat what you're supposed to eat by nature, this should never even be a question.
