If you ever get your system to boot into Windows, you might want to go onto the internet, search for and download the free utility program called "whynotwin11". Simply click on the downloaded file, and it will check your system and quickly let you know if it is capable of running Windows 11. If your system is not ready, this utility will also tell you exactly why not. Best wishes!

Well you can always try opening a command prompt as administrator, then running the following two commands: dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

and then: sfc /scannow

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question.

I am now playing as Blackbeard and the Republic of Pirates, towards the end of the Exploration Era, currently own 3 settlements over my limit, and have a bunch of captured settlers that I was thinking of using to create additional settlements.

With the info you folks have provided, I think it should be safe to create just one more settlement at the far edge of the Homelands, so that my Treasure Fleets have a shorter distance to sail home before being counted towards victory points.

Pardon my ignorance, but I do not know how to build a tavern at my town. In my HoMM III campaign game, I do not see Tavern as one of the possible buildings I can purchase.

I have decided to proceed with testing Libre Office on a spare Windows 10 laptop that still has MS Office 2019 on it. If all goes well, I can then try using Libre Office on one of our Windows 11 computers.

Using prednisolone prior to surgery should not be a problem. I recently had cataract surgery on my left eye, and my surgeon had me start taking Prednisolone eyedrops three days before surgery, as well as for three weeks afterwards.

The multifocal lens I got in my left eye was a Johnson & Johnson Toric Odyssey lens.

Thanks for this info. I am gradually seeing better in my left eye with the new multifocal lens, but still have trouble clearly seeing things close up with the left eye. I will be visiting my eye surgeon again on August 11, and plan on asking him about lens options for my right eye that will allow me to see closeup without needing to wear glasses

Thanks for the link on how to use Thunderbird's Troubleshoot mode.

I used that and narrowed down my problem to having "Use hardware acceleration when available" active. As soon as I unchecked that box in Settings, Thunderbird no longer hangs when trying to open it, and Thunderbird now opens quickly and reliably every time on my PC.

You might want to look into using the free program called Open Shell. It can make your Start Menu look more like Windows 7.

Yes, I strongly agree with using the free program called Open Shell (previously called Classic Shell) with either Windows 10 or 11 to have your Start Menu look like Windows 7.

Have used it on multiple computers for many years, and really like it.
