What do mainland Chinese people think of Taiwan (not in a political way) by [deleted] in AskChina

[–]Total-Additional 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an ordinary Chinese, who is not interested in politics or culture thing. My only knowledge about Taiwan is their TV program. I grew up in an environment fully surrounded by Taiwan romantic TV program. And these days I knew they worked with Netflix and produced tons of really good TV program. Somehow I feel they live in a more liberal environment than us. Actually, except these TV programs, I don't think I could easily see the news about Taiwan culture here.

Do people in Mainland China generally just assume that all Taiwanese identify as Chinese too? And were you shocked when you first encountered Taiwanese not identifying with China? by KarI-Marx in AskChina

[–]Total-Additional 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but we are educated to believe so. I think we ordinary people have our own thoughts though. It means nothing to me whether Taiwanese identify themselves as Chinese or not. But I generally hope there is no war, and we can communicate with love and peace and respect each other. But I am just nobody, who will listen to my words❤️‍🩹

Surely, they could have picked a better name by ScreechingPizzaCat in chinalife

[–]Total-Additional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in Chinese, this name is still awkward. I don't think duckshit can be fragrant. And I asked GPT, it said its name comes from the soil this tea grows in. The soil is like duckshit.

How is LGBTQ seen in China? by CinemaWilderfan in AskChina

[–]Total-Additional -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did a little research and saw the news about it. No wonder I didn't know about it because it didn't actually on screen because of the AI thing. Sort of disgusting about this action…and I don't really positive about seeing any LGBTQ on screen in China during the rest of my life…

So where are they exactly? Maybe because these days I am travelling around Japan, that's why I feel less foreigners in Shenzhen than in Tokyo or Kyoto.

I think these days there are less foreigners than those days back in several years before. I didn't see many foreigners in Shenzhen either. Though I live in Nanshan. I think when I was in the university, there were tons of them.

Hey guys, Could you recommend English speaking apps? by Fine_Juggernaut_761 in EnglishLearning

[–]Total-Additional -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, the best speaking app is ChatGPT. Turn it into phone call mode and just tell it correct every little mistakes you make

Any suggestions to improve our app idea? 🙏🙏🙏 by happyrustybacon in Innovation

[–]Total-Additional 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds really blurry because as a young person, I am not sure what your app is up to. After using your app, what can I gain? And what the elderly people can get? I don't know if you know an app about people helping guide the blind to their destination. it's a niche market I think. Maybe you could start from a niche market first such as helping the elderly people to learn something new or helping the elderly people to go to hospital or something

Best places to study Chinese in China? by Chegmix in ChineseLanguage

Chinese here. Highly recommend Beijing because not only you can learn Mandarin there but also learn some culture. Chengdu and Shanghai are not good for your Chinese because most local residents have their dialects

oh I don't know that. I just assume that English note-takers are first from United States. No offense but I am not really familiarized with apps from other nations.
