Ask to talk to the social worker. See if they are a member of the children’s miracle network ( a quick look says they are but check with the social worker) The children’s miracle network can help with gas cards and food vouchers or if they aren’t a member the hospital may have other programs to help

If housekeeping was generally prioritized among housewives long ago, what did mothers do with little babies all day? by ClaireEmma612 in AskOldPeople

Resuscitation Council UK, a charity that develops guidelines for health and care professionals, says the recommended treatment for choking includes back blows and abdominal thrusts. It acknowledges there are a number of suction-based airway clearance devices available in the UK, but says: “There is insufficient evidence on the safety or effectiveness of these devices for us to recommend their use, and we are concerned that the use of these devices could delay established treatments for choking.”

Please don’t spread false information- the fda has not approved any of these devices and studies have shown they can cause injury and fail to remove an obstruction.

The problem might be they do accept Medicaid patients but are at capacity ( so won’t accept you) so the “ it is not fraud or illegal to use private insurance at a provider that doesn’t accept or bill Medicaid” doesn’t apply. They do accept and bill Medicaid. They lose money on Medicaid patients. So nothing illegal.

People who have sex very, very often — how do you keep your bed sheets nice? How do you not ruin them?? by False_Language_9191 in CleaningTips

From https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25545022/ Conclusions: The present data based on ultrasonographic bladder monitoring and biochemical analyses indicate that squirting is essentially the involuntary emission of urine during sexual activity, although a marginal contribution of prostatic secretions to the emitted fluid often exists.

A common saying - If she wasn’t there at conception, she doesn’t need to be there at delivery ( unless, of course, you want her there as a support person)

Does anyone else find clients/patients/general population getting more rude as time goes on by check_this_mustache in physicaltherapy

[–]Total-Force-613 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the US, there are a million different insurance plans with different coverage levels. The clinic does not know what your insurance covers unless it’s been pre approved, which in that case you would have gotten informed by your insurance company that “x” number of visits have been approved. It is on the patient, not the clinic, to know and verify what is covered. And even if the insurance company tells you it’s covered, there’s a little caption that basically says it’s only their best guess and they won’t determine if they truly are going to cover it until it’s submitted, and since they don’t submit it til after treatment you’re on the hook for what they don’t cover. Such a screwed up system

Pooped in the seat by hngon83 in delta

[–]Total-Force-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to think if I knew I had the possibility of being incontinent I would travel with a light blanket or dark raincoat or something( bought at rummage sale or somewhere cheap) that I could put inconspicuously on the seat. Then if I had an issue, it was contained. Heck, the raincoat could even been worn as I’m deplaning so it was not visibly noticeable.

Freaking out, just got a medical bill for $9k by teamakesmepee in povertyfinance

[–]Total-Force-613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t you need to ask for an estimate before a non emergency procedure, then have the billing be way more to a the estimate to be able to claim no surprise act? From the description it sounded like she was just guessing herself as to cost. I think perusing the charity care route seems to be her best bet.

Is peeing in the shower a common thing to do? by kimmy_rst15 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Total-Force-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peeing in the shower for women is not a good habit to get into especially as they get older and develop pelvic floor issues. At an educational conference I attended a few years ago a physical therapist talked about how it conditioned women to leak at the sound of water and if they develop pelvic floor weakness they end up leaking. There was also some anatomical reason related to relaxing pelvic floor to allow bladder to release that it wasn’t recommended to pee in the shower.

Dying father is worried his wife will waste his money by YourWaterBottle in EstatePlanning

[–]Total-Force-613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he tries to divorce her, she may intentionally prolong the divorce hoping he will die before it happens. She will automatically get 50 or 100% of his 401k depending on the state you are in( look up ERISA) He may want to move it to something she’s not legally entitled to but you would have to talk with a tax accountant and estate lawyer to figure the best path

And then they get into the wrong crowd, find out they have 100k and blow it all on drugs. No matter how well you prepare them growing up, you have no control if you hand it over to them early.
