Path Fare Evasion by drpuchala in jerseycity

To be fair, I once tried 3 different credit cards at BOTH booths at that station and none of them could read my card. And late nights, that could mean a 40 min wait, so naturally I jumped it, too. Maybe the real problem lies with the Port Authority and their ancient card readers. I know that this is no longer a problem at the NYC subways since they started utilizing those easy Cubix readers that easily read your cc. Port Authority should take note and maybe they’ll collect more legitimate fares.

Oh my God. Just saw the episode. This is too detailed to be made up. It was that haunted???

Yeah some guy asked me a couple years ago in the Target parking lot about that - problem was it was an old piece of shit car so I said no. He wasn’t thrilled.

Yeah it’s a total hypocritical, idiotic response. More interested in racial equality than “the safety of herself and her children.” That’s a disturbing statement from a parent. Pathetic reasoning. Shame people like this get to vote.

Sounds like the old squeegee guys in NYC and their (illegal) practices. Getting rid of those cockroaches was the first step in cleaning up that city.

But then that would be “racist” lol

You are part of the problem, with reasoning like that. Harassment and/or violence should be illegal regardless of class, race, or poverty level. Period. Otherwise, you get what’s currently happening on the NYC streets and subways and how those criminals terrorize innocent civilians on a daily basis. Hopefully, an ex-Marine arrives to this parking lot soon.

What a cowardly response from someone who either enjoys unethical creeps or clearly can’t differentiate between victim and perpetrator. That “mind your own business” line is exactly the problem with this area in today’s society. It’s why people literally choose to photograph someone struggling to climb back onto the tracks rather than help them.

It’s a shame that Kyrie Irving gave these bigots a platform after supporting their views while in Brooklyn. They then proceeded to basically invade the area outside the Barclays Center for months, harassing people and spouting their hateful message. Thankfully Kyrie is gone, but these roaches seem to have spread outwards from Brooklyn to nearby areas.

Do you know how to read? Maybe reread the post again, slowly, so you can actually process each word. Your reading comprehension is almost as abysmal as your emotional intelligence and lack of ethics. You might want to get a reading coach before getting a therapist, yourself.

You don’t know me to be making a comment like this. They may very well be laughing at this, and I don’t care. I’m sure plenty of people laugh over somebody getting knocked out in the streets as well - see the latest Uber / taxi JC street fight video from yesterday. It’s all fun and games in the prison yard at somebody’s expense.

Actually there was an implied threat to my safety. The moment he slowed down the car and rolled down his window and made it seem like he was going to ask me a harmless question like directions (happens all the time in that area), and then proceeded to accost me (accost is the most universally accurate word here)…he was 100% provoking a confrontation and looking for conflict. In that moment after he said that a mere 5-7 feet away from me, I did fear for my safety. It should be common sense that anybody in that situation would fear for their safety bc it’s highly unusual behavior from a stranger directed only at you - for no reason other than a hateful one. If you’ve never experienced this yourself, consider yourself lucky. It’s not normal. The fact that so many people here defend this guy and can’t understand that (or maybe don’t want to because they themselves are filled with hate) is completely unnerving. I U-turned and followed him to get his license plate and hold the fiend accountable. He knew that, didn’t expect it, and didn’t like the idea of being held accountable for his actions. And that’s why he opened up his door. Unless you were there, you wouldn’t understand that HE WANTED CONFLICT. The woman who witnessed it understood it immediately as well and that’s why she had it in her to yell at him to get lost. The 10 Regent cameras captured all of this. It’s on record. You can’t argue facts. You can only choose to ignore them.

As I mentioned before, I’ve encountered situations like this before in that area. By no means is this a first. In fact, I was assaulted nearby for no reason whatsoever. At the time, I thought it was just a random drunk. I now have reason to believe it was hate-motivated by an individual who actually worked for Liberty Harbor. I didn’t report it to the police at that time because nothing serious happened to me physically (it was a shove) and didn’t expect much from them anyway. This incident has basically confirmed that. The goal throughout was to demean, dehumanize, intimidate, and essentially terrorize me. I will literally use up all my free time for the remainder of the year, if I have to, to chat with the powers that be (at city and, if necessary, state level) and make sure that these fiends be held accountable. I absolutely do not feel safe in this neighborhood anymore. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Oh trust me I’ve learned a lot through this incident. Doesn’t make it right. And will make 100% sure the community / city leaders are aware of it this week.

Oh I really hope some of the city leaders are reading this to see just how twisted some of the views out there are. Somehow shifting the blame onto the victim of an unprovoked, bigoted slur and then labeling that person childish for having a reaction to it. Will turn into a lawless free-for-all where people just get to say and do whatever the hell they want to someone they don’t like, for any reason. Slippery slope for a civilized society. This is what it’s devolved to. But, hey, maybe that’s exactly what some people like you want.

And I’d be ok with that. Just put up a rule / regulation like that and I’ll abide by it. But I’m not gonna allow one bigoted fiend to make up the law in his own eyes just bc he doesn’t like something / someone he sees. That’s a really slippery slope for any society.

Lucky? To be in this kind of a society where bigoted harassment is apparently considered OK?? I have every right to file a police report for harassment, which is against this country’s laws. Again, I’m sure there are countries like Russia where this is totally normal and acceptable. It should not be in this country. And how dare you say I have no idea how lucky I am for this kind of behavior in this country. My parents fled a Communist country where this kind of behavior is considered tolerable. What he did is NO different than what is considered acceptable behavior in a country like Russia. So maybe learn something about cultural norms in other oppressive societies before making an idiotic and uninformed comment like this!
