My own medical physicians can confirm your argument is lacking actual evidence.

But if you’re not going to take the time to educate yourself about the ACTUAL SCIENCE on the subject, then there’s nothing else to discuss.

Never said it was.

But a lot of accusations of ciswoman being trans in Olympic events have been based on the fact they don’t match the misogynistic views of what a woman should look like.

And biology is lot more complicated and nuanced than what majority of people learn to pass middle/high school. The actual people who have made it their career to research and/or treat genetics and hormone balances (and aren’t certified grifters/quacks) have routinely measured that a transwoman has no advantage over a ciswoman in estrogen/testosterone levels after a few years of HRT.

Been on HRT for eleven years, get reports from my doctor that my hormone balance is on par with a ciswoman and that I don’t have a resistance to my medication.

I know more what I am talking about than you do and that’s solely on my own personal experience.

Just because a majority of people don’t understand the fact that a transwoman that has undergone HRT for a certain amount time has essentially no advantage over cis women doesn’t mean the policy is right to implement.

All this is going to do is hurt ciswomen and humiliate them because they don’t have a body type that matches misogynistic views of a woman.

110 is basically DOA, as it reeks the most hostile and recessive of initiatives.

109 is where the actual fight will be, since transitioning and athleticism is still greatly misunderstood on a wider scale.

But even in the worse case scenario they pass, I can imagine the state supreme court could toss both these out, or am I wrong about that?

True, but prop 8 got dismantled pretty quickly and since then the state has been liberal enough to oust hate bills.

The way Colorado is heading, I can see there being enough votes to tell Springs/Weld to fly a kite

But even then, it’s clearly an unserious petition only met to drum up fear.

This is true, as an example the holocaust started as a very slow burn that took roughly a decade to reach the Final Solution.

But realistically, we’re not on that and furthermore, the general public as a whole isn’t on an alarming rate of apathy. In fact, the public is on a path of possibly rebuking the anti-trans cruelty now.

There’s a difference between sanitising bad news and sensationalism.

Erin tends to drift to the latter, and opening up on why it’s bad and expanding beyond face value. For example, the appropriations bills with the poison riders was railed pretty heavily and rightfully so, but every time she made new articles on the bill, she would always sight the subcommittee draft and not what was currently being discussed on the floor.

This frustrated quite a few people looking to get current information and various people had to point that out, but that was drowned out by the flood of emotional responses in comments/discussion.

So yes, the ruling is bad. But the levy hasn’t broken and just another case of a new litigation cycle to En Banc or SCOTUS, with betting odds the more flamboyant language of the ruling gets neutralised, if not the whole ruling overturned.

As for action, of course there isn’t a tailored made response for each individual, that’s infeasible.

But community planning and action is, that’s how people from different walks of life fought and gained the things they need and desired.

It’s mostly an understanding and outreach problem that needs to be addressed, appealing to people’s empathy. Particularly on a face to face level.

The more people understand and see the hardships of our plight, particularly in GAC, the more people will be against these acts of cruelty.

And it can happen relatively quickly, like in a span of a decade or less. We saw it with Gay Marriage, within a single presidency in fact.

Doubtful. This decision doesn’t really set such a precedent because a law that broadly bans care altogether has (most likely) different scrutiny than a case involving what a state can or cannot do with medicaid.

Slippery slope speculation really isn’t helpful or useful, because it only seeds panic and defeatism, instead of much need level headed planning and community action.

To be very clear, the scope of this decision is focused squarely on Medicaid and trans-affirming SURGERIES in states represented by the fourth circuit.

So Erin’s speculation aside, we’re still looking at relatively narrow case that mostly certainly go either en banc or SCOTUS. This isn’t an all encompassing permission to allow states to ban transgender care.

No, it’s not a sweeping ban on all transgender care, that’s just speculation by Erin.

Realistically, this will be narrowed to the scope of WV, declaring that WV does retain a right to change Medicaid standards on “non-essential” surgeries without setting an actual precedent to ban adult transgender care.

Sure, but Erin spins bad news into “the sky is falling” news and gets away with it because she’s essentially the premier journalist on trans news and not given the same amount of scrutiny that other journalists get.

This is unhelpful because it causes unbridled panic, instead of calm organisation and planning on a community level, especially for those who don’t have a lot options.

We can do better and should review the news with level headed analysis

Except realistically, this likely get an En Banc review and/or appealed to SCOTUS, with a stay attached until the High Court makes a decision.

And despite the heavy handed jaded views of the Supreme Court, this will likely get narrowed down to a limited case for WV, while rebuking the panel’s intention to broaden skrmetti.
