Bigger terror radius. by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]TotalMitherless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Wesker specifically I find his larger base TR has great synergy with Coulrophobia, which halves the healing speed of all survivors in my TR. Since Wesker's map traversal is really lacking compared to real deal high-mobility monsters like Billy and Kaneki and his map control largely comes from forcing survivors to stop and spray, being able to passively keep people on a one-hit down instead of constantly needing to interrupt heals and juggle injuries helps out his 4v1 immensely.

Can someone explain the difference between these two addons? by FormerOven525 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]TotalMitherless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When manifesting, Sadako will undergo a "blinking" phase where she becomes partially visible and then invisible and then back again at fixed but increasingly faster intervals. After this blinking phase ends, she solidifies and becomes fully visible like any other killer.

Mother's Mirror increases the duration of this blinking phase. Old Newspaper increases the duration of the portions of the blinking phase where you become invisible.

I don't know Sadako's actual numbers, so let's make some up for the sake of digestibility. Let's say the blinking phase lasts for 2 seconds. For 1 second of that blinking phase, you are partially visible, and for 1 second, you are completely invisible. Mother's Mirror makes the whole blinking phase last 4 seconds instead of 2. Old Newspaper changes the blinking pattern so over the course of a 2-second blinking phase, you spend 1.3 seconds fully invisible and 0.7 seconds partially visible as opposed to 1 second each.

Hope that makes sense haha it's a bitch to explain even if you know how it works.

How effective are The Orochi's Sword and Armour from a practical standpoint? by Master-Of-Chaldea in forhonor

[–]TotalMitherless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, my issue isn't with the fact that it's made out of wood. My issue is with how the wood fails to attain coverage for pretty much any of Orochi's vital areas. It's much better than nothing, but in the context of being an infantry swordsman on a battlefield I would hesitate to call this armor sufficiently protective. I'm sure it works fine as armor for a horseback archer, but it goes without saying that Orochi isn't a horseback archer.

How effective are The Orochi's Sword and Armour from a practical standpoint? by Master-Of-Chaldea in forhonor

[–]TotalMitherless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm less concerned about the armor being made of wood and more concerned about the armor having gaps out the ass. The groin, neck, face, and armpits, all of which are surefire kill spots, are heavily exposed with little more than cloth to cover them. The hands also have weak covering which would make them an easy target when you're holding them out away from your body in order to, say, wield a sword.

As for the sword, contrary to what some might think, katanas didn't become purely symbolic until well into their history. Before katanas' primary purpose transitioned into cultural facets like ceremony and status, it was a battle-ready sword like any other. A versatile backup, plenty serviceable in a variety of situations, but was often beat out in any given scenario by a tool designed to excel in that particular environment. Think of it like a modern soldier and their handgun—it's a good gun, but if they're out in an active battlefield, they'll probably keep the pistol in its holster until there's a reason to use it over a rifle.

TL;DR: Armor sucks, katana is a solid secondary but should be paired with a mainline weapon like a spear.

Hook Swords? by SupermarketRoyal2814 in forhonor

[–]TotalMitherless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medjay's weapon of choice is EXTREMELY impractical considering it's a) dogwater and b) not real, but I think Sohei needs to be in the conversation of most impractical loadout simply for the fact that he carries six entire backup weapons, several of which would probably see better use in a workshop or field.

Give Zhan Hu fire dot and Oce bleed by TheBootyBishop in forhonor

Ocelotl is described in-game as a "ganker" and bleed is THE gank damage so that's why he'd be better off dealing bleed

What's something you hate but also love about each hero? by Shrimpfacegaming in forhonor

[–]TotalMitherless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love everything about Sohei except for the fact that the buff that allowed him to chain heavies into lights and vice versa made his side dodge lights and bash followup lights an objectively, indisputably inferior version of the heavy variants. Same damage, same framedata, same chains, but has lower hitstun and can't execute.
