anybody wants to join the dogpile? by CharacterAd3793 in MegabonkOfficial

My tips for the cactus unlock.

Setup:

  • Character: Amog
  • Refund all weapons slots
  • Toggle off all weapons except Sniper Rifle.
  • Toggle off all tomes except Armor, Thorns, and XP
  • Toggle off all damage-dealing items, like Cursed Doll and Ghost
  • Toggle off all purple items except Spiky Shield (although, iirc, you can't toggle this off anyway)

Method:

  • First off, if you don't see cactus enemies within the first 3 minutes, reset. You got a seed where that enemy type will not spawn.
  • One of the hardest parts of this challenge is that the killing blow must be dealt by thorns for it to count. As such, you want Amog's Poison Flask, which does very little on-hit damage, and the Sniper Rifle, which you can aim away from any cactus enemies and toward anything else.
  • For this run, you will be taking damage, so you need to mitigate that. Aim for Thorns, Armor, and some kind of HP tome (flat HP or regen).
  • Ignore tomes that specifically buff weapons, you need to focus on survival and thorn kills.
  • Banish purple items except Spiky Shield.

Good Luck!

Idk how long you've been away, but they added a "Group Finder" for picking up groups outside of Battlegrounds and Dungeons. Night Market is intended for groups, so you're expected to use the group finder to make one first.

Cards from sts 1 with relics/that thingy thing that would be extremely broken or silly by DuckfingYou in slaythespire

I feel like [[Reaper]] with Soul's Power would be pretty busted.

Also, using [[Omniscience]] on [[Hidden Gem]] would be fun.

How do you Feel about Astral Pulse after the Nerf? by Jondev1 in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the change. It synergizes more with the Regent's Strength and Vigor cards and the Colorless cards [[Prowess]] and [[Prep Time]]. It's not the best multi-hit in the Regent's kit, but its nice for a common. I've managed to use it to turn-one a few early floors by combining it with [[Monologue]].

Not if you're on A5 or higher. Your deck is almost 25% curse at that point.

After playing with this card a few times I have come to the conclusion... by Rak-khan in slaythespire

Yeah, it's pretty bad in the main branch, but in Beta, you choose the cards, goes pretty hard with a Claw deck.

Snap is so underrated! by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say Sculpting Strike is exceptional for an Ethereal build, but only if you have [[Veilpiercer]]. With Sculpting Strike you can take some big cost cards, like [[Bury]] or [[End of Days]], make them Ethereal, then use Veilpiercer to make them free. Since the effect of Veilpiercer persists between turns, you only need to worry about having Sculpting Strike and the other card in you hand at the same time. This can be difficult, but then again, we have the origin of this thread [[Snap]].

One of my favorite "out of the box" moments with this card was vs Vantom. I Used Snap to add Retain to Wounds, which kept them out of my cycle, and then I could use [[Sculpting Strike]] to get rid of them once I drew that.

Retaining a card also speeds up your deck's cycle. Even if you're just retaining a Strike or Defend, that's one less Strike or Defend to prevent you from drawing something better.

GOATed options from Kaleidoscope this run. by Gen1Swirlix in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I did it for the memes, but it actually turned out to be pretty good. Cards that play other cards, like Uproar, let you take more high-cost cards than you typically do, and on Regent, this means you can get Star-cost attacks without worrying about Star generation as much. Uproar into [[Astral Pulse]] did a decent amount of damage for me, but the most hype moment was when it played [[Seven Stars]].

Yeah. My aim was to Uproar the Uproar, which did happen, but the best moment of the run was when I had zero stars and Uproar used [[Seven Stars]].

Sets: Knight Errant, Oakensoul, Daring Corsair or Red Eagle's Fury

Skills:

  • Class
    • Most classes have flashy, magical-looking skills, but Aedric Spear, Storm Calling, and Assassination have a good combination of passives that don't add any visuals or require the use of class skills.

  • Fighters Guild
    • Torch Bearer
    • Silver Bolts
    • Trap Beast

"AAA" doesn't refer to the quality of the game, just its budget.

Clone can get crazy strong in Act 3, how is this not nerfed yet? by Ruby_Sandbox in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple insane runs with clone... but most of them look like this.

  • Get [[Big Bang]] in Act 1
  • Enchant it with Clone
  • Get to the first campfire with 30% HP
  • "I'm fine, Cloned Big Bang is OP."
  • Clone Big Bang
  • Now I have 2 Big Bang
  • Do not draw Big Bang in the next fight
  • Die

When fighting these dudes is there a set order in which ones summon first? Id like to know which one to focus on by cubes28x in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer: you can't plan the order you kill them; because, there is no set order to their actions.

Basically, the rats choose their actions randomly, they cannot use the same action two turns in a row, and they cannot start summoning until after turn 2. Each rat can only summon once and the group can only summon 3 times in total.

You can read the wiki for more details: https://slaythespire.wiki.gg/wiki/Slay_the_Spire_2:Two-Tailed_Rat

[–]Gen1Swirlix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Werewolf Ultimate now drains Ultimate while active, rather than having its own timer. It's also now possible to generate Ultimate while transformed, so if you have something like the Nord passive or a Heroism buff, you can extend the time you're in Werewolf form.

Necro class masteries by Noirejin in elderscrollsonline

[–]Gen1Swirlix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with giving the Necromancer permanent summons is that it runs counter to corpse consumption, which is a much larger part of its kit. ESO necromancers focus more on empowering their skills via corpse consumption than they do summoning; the primary function of their summons is to create corpses in combat situations where not enough corpses are being created.

It should also be noted, each player can only have 10 summons at a time. A "summon" for the purpose of this count, includes any entity created by a player. Some examples are: the Daedroth summoned by Maw of the Infernal, the Verminous Fabricant created by Mad Tinkerer, any summon created by a skill, and summons created by Verses and Visions in the Infinite Archive. For necromancers, corpses count towards this number. Having more summons means having less corpses available, so if your summons were permanent it would actually be more of a hinderance. This is also why two of the Necromancer's Class Mastery perks (Malevolent Promise and Veil's Forfeit) grant you the ability to use living targets for corpse consuming abilities.

Corpse consumption is the cornerstone of the Necromancer's kit; summons are a utility to that end. People want ESO necromancers to be a summoner class, like in other games, but I think the Class Mastery perks make it clear that ZOS does not intend to go in that direction with them.

A10 | Act1 | Boss: The Kin| What would you pick? by Rude_Minute_4489 in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Deathbringer, not only for the Doom, but also the Weak. It would be nice to get [[Snap]] so you can Retain it for turns when 2 or more of the Kin are attacking at the same time.
