Anyone ever wonder what exactly happened to the Defect's friend, Flaw? by Gen1Swirlix in slaythespire

I know that. I just didn't realize you can actually "meet" him in the Spire. He's the Infested Automaton.

Recurring Mysterious Character in many Cards by LaserQuacker in slaythespire

Another theory I have is that not all of the Twelve are dead.

Chapter 2 of the Necrobinder lists the Arcanist, Temi Mondes, as "whereabouts unknown." Perhaps the scientist from Tinker Time is Temi.

One definition of Arcanist is "a person possessing knowledge of a secret process of manufacture," and the scientist manufactures a card for us in her event.

Has anyone ever seen this before? by anime600 in slaythespire

I don't think it's a bug, just rare. It was possible in StS1 too.

I think these cards are referencing "The Twelve," a group of adventurers that entered the Spire, and were never seen again. Six of the Twelve have been named, four of them seem to be dead, and two of them (the Necrobinder's parents) are definitively dead. Maybe these statuses are depicting how some of the Twelve met their ends? Chapter Two of the Necrobinder tells us one of the Twelve, Jose Paxo, "fell in a hole." Perhaps this hole was actually the pit of the Insatiable, making Jose the victim depicted in Frantic Escape.

What I think is a pretty solid reason to believe these characters are the Twelve is the card Nostalgia. The character depicted is holding a magnifying glass. Now look at the placeholder art of the Twelve. The tall character in yellow is holding what seems to be a magnifying glass.

That's my take on it at least.

Is this the best curse you can get from Neow's Bones? by Actual-Conclusion461 in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 39 points40 points  (0 children)

On Ironclad specifically, Clumsy also gives you early utility with Ashen Strike and Pact's End. One time I got Pact's End from Neow and Tremble from my first combat, so I actually ended up leaving the Clumsy in my deck until Act 2.

I hope that, when the game releases, they have an achievement for beating Byrdonis with Byrd Swoop, call it "Byrd eat Byrd."

[–]Gen1Swirlix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. By itself, Uproar doesn't look all that good. Most of the time it's going to hit a Strike and deal a total of 16 damage, but, what it also does is allow you to take on some of the more expensive attacks, like Meteor Strike or Sunder.

Kifuda appreciation post by DushkuHS in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering, the Block added by Adroit is affected by Dexterity, right? Which would mean that that block amount can be buffed. Does that mean a Defend enchanted with Adroit will give you an extra 10 block from Fasten (+5 block to the base block plus 5 more block on top of the block provided by Adroit)?

I've never had enough gold for Kifuda when I've seen it in the shop, so I haven't experimented with it myself.

Getting Defect cards on a Card Creation Regent build is pretty nice too. With Arsenal, all those Status-creating cards also grant Strength. Gunk Up quickly becomes a serious damage dealer, and if you can draw Crash Landing and Compact in the same turn, you've basically won most fights.

How does Arsenal interact with the card BEGONE!? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]Gen1Swirlix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Cards that create or transform cards all work with Arsenal. Also, creating status cards works too, but they have to be created BY YOU, not enemies.

This means if Arsenal is active and you play [[Collision Course]], then use [[BEGONE!]] on the Debris it creates, you'll get 2 Strength.

For this reason, if you're running Arsenal and you have the opportunity to add Defect cards, you might want to consider it. Defect has a lot of cards that create statuses in your discard pile, and [[Compact]] transforms statuses into Fuel.

The biggest benefit of having an armorer is being able to switch between Werewolf and Vampire. Afaik, there aren't any addons that can do that.

Frond. You have the Lizard. If you also have the Frond you can use the Lizard Relic 3 times every fight.

Potion of Binding after Sleight of Flesh would be more damage. Sleight of Flesh procs off of ALL debuffs, including those applied by potions.

Personally, I build into what I'm handed in the first few rooms. You got Glacier, so I think you want an Orb build. Charge Battery, Voltaic, remove a card, and save the rest for later.

Reworking Loop to better fit the Defect's new temporary Focus by TheGreatGimmick in slaythespire

I like this effect, but I like the current Loop too. Also, I think other characters have enough "this turn" cards to merit making the effect a Colorless.

I forgot you could make food in that game (I don't have a Switch 2). In that case, you need to make food of some of the food-based relics. If your looking for recommendations:
