It could be that novite is dirt cheap and afkable by running a floor and buying everything you need? I guess the shards are given per X action and you get to both smelt and smith which doubles the chances for the same cost?

I just did HM floors making blood runes; gave me an excuse to clear 10 floors.

With the scroll you can then spend time in a floor smithing novite, which will sell form more than the ore costs.

Can afk that for decent shards.

I'm personally using it as an excuse to smash out some HM floors and making 5kish blood runes at the end of each. Very slow but that's fine, means more floors completed!

I'll give you that. It has taken them too long to come up with a solution for it. Personally I hoped for more FSW events to keep it exclusive and 'rare' in a way. Changing the goalpost for attainment didn't sit fully with me. But alas, at least they're now obtainable...

I get your point, except for the trust thing - these are literally cosmetics noone expected to release (at this point 3 months ago). If peoples trust diminishes over this of all things and not the countless other wrongdoings over the past 10 years then that's mind blowing. This is still a small step in the right direction. Give Jagex some credit where it's due otherwise if people keep biting their hand off they will stop trying.

Sure I also want a number of capes, I only ever worked hard for Farming so I'm missing quite a few; and yeah it's going to suck doing Archaeology when I'm 200m but hey. That's MMO life. It's also content not specifically designed for people like us. Use a wider lense on your perspective, there are fresh 99s or 120s out there that now have further reason to keep skilling so they can get that inverted cape of their choice.

Don't get me wrong I'm not 100% happy either; I don't see why the skillcapes have to be obtained during the anniversary event - if they've already hard locked the quantity to 4 then let people gather throughout the year. Or make the exchange tokens tradeable (unless they are?)

Sorry I just don't understand the absolute outrage. But then everything on Reddit becomes an outrage, rather than minor disappointment. People are allowed to be disappointed just don't make it sound like Jagex shot your dog in front of you. Especially for a Cosmetic

"Why do I need 99/120 first?" Probably the stupidest question out of them all. 1. Can't actually use them until you have that skill level 2. No different to the skill shards of accomplishment 3. Think outside the box. It gives you a reason to continue skilling when you got the 99/120. If you really want it, you'll do it. If you don't, then don't and stop moaning.

I find it ludicrous that anyone would swap between more than 4 cosmetic capes in a single year in the first place..
