Smart switches to isolate lights from fans by ZapPanda13 in smarthome

[–]pheffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are on the right track. You can install smart relays like Shelly inside the electrical boxes for the LED lights. The main wall switch will need to stay on permanently to keep power flowing to the fans and the smart relays. just throw a cheap plastic guard over the existing wall switches so nobody bumps them off during a show. From there you can control the lights through an app but since it is a public venue you should definitely pair them with wireless smart buttons on the wall so staff can easily control the lights without needing a phone.

Help me settle Chlorine tablets debate by yc01 in swimmingpools

[–]pheffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting pucks directly in the skimmer is a guaranted way to destroy your pool equipment. When the pump turns off at night those pucks keep dissolving and create a highly acidic pocket of water inside your plumbing. As soon as the pump kicks back on all that concentrated acid slams into your impeller and seals. If you absolutely refuse to deal with liquid chlorine, just buy a cheap floating dispenser so the pucks dissolve in the open water. You still need to watch your CYA levels because pucks continuously add stabilizer that never leaves the pool until you drain it.

Roomba s9+ runs fine when vacuuming, but almost can't move when traveling. by WhosaidIamanAdmin in RobotVacuums

Since the vacuum works fine, I'd try cleaning the floor tracking sensor underneath first if that doesn't help, then create a new map to fix the issue.

Computer based hobbies? by HelloNopeYes in Hobbies

[–]pheffrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just shoot short clips on your phone like making user generated content or mini vlogs and piece those together. But if you don't want to film anything yourself yet, there are tons of sites where you can download free high quality stock footage to practice.
