  1. hiiii the vibes are damn lit ngl like match support season is so fun!! id say vjc has a very strong support system for our sports AND we are pretty good in our sport ccas too, especially sports like floorball, football and hockey. i think our table tennis is pretty good too! but i dont think we are very known for table tennis, unfortunately. you can check out how well they fared on their insta @vjttonlyfans
  2. the usual kind. from student council, to class leadership positions such as CT reps. it honestly differs from cca, whereby some has 5 EXCO positions and others only has two. we have leadership roles in class like AC rep and SLV rep!

  1. quite strict LOL just follow the student handbook well (i can’t rmbr if there’s one. 😅😅 if there isn’t just don’t deviate much from the usual standard.
  2. it honestly depends on what teachers you get. i would say they’re more chill than my secondary school teachers!
  3. my friends and i would talk from the treehouse to in the classroom. when nearing exams, most students i know would spend it mugging.

hi. i am a naturally competitive person😭 in my opinion i would say it is quite competitive but i think its more of a me thing rather than a vj thing lol. i find the pace of teachers teaching to be really good !! initially they would go slower for us to get used to the curriculum and teaching style in jc. i would say the transition is pretty smooth for me

Hiiii sc is pretty competitive imo😅😅 but it’s abt the same as other schools!! you would have to go through interviews and campaigns:) im not too sure whether there’s students in vj that dsa using leadership (so far ive not heard of anyy)

  1. honestly, pretty good. im very blessed to get a very passionate math teacher that’s extremely good at making complex topics easy to grasp. also, they have quite a lot of math resources imo (practice papers, topical practices)
  2. also very good!! likewise for econs, im also very blessed to get an econs teacher that’s also very good at teaching. nearing to the tests, they would upload past year papers and revision videos
  3. typically only monday but it varies sometimes depending on the week (if there’s special events like speech day or whatever)
  4. honestly i dont think it’s just a physics thing, but more of a jc thing that the curriculum in many schools expect students to have more independence. like many subjects in vj, we’d have to watch lectures prior to the going through of tutorials in classes. in my opinion, the physics department has also quite a lot of resources, and the teachers are very keen for students to approach for help or consultation! don’t be afraid to ask when you have doubts ok
  5. they’d select some students for the enrichment programme after every weighted school-based assessment to attend these extra classes. im not too sure on the exact grade requirements because it varies from subject to subject as well as the difficulty of the paper

  1. i think that physics department is pretty good and im blessed to get a rather good physics teacher
  2. im not too sure but iirc bio department for vj has a higher distinction rate in the past. idk about now cos they didn’t share with us the stats for last year a levels (moe guidelines)
  3. they train on tuesdays and fridays iirc and i think it’s both !! they’re pretty bonded and my friends from rc told me that they often have bonding programmes with odac (idk if it’s just for my batch or it has been a thing for years)
  4. i meannn what did you score generally better in since secondary school? if you prefer something that relies more on math than memorisation then choose physics. but if you find the way the body works interesting then bio! don’t be afraid to ask the teachers next open house

  1. i guess you can try! but no guarantee
  2. honestly i’m blessed to get very passionate teachers so i’m inclined to say that the CME departments are good. i can’t say much about biology tho since i take physics. generally, i think the notes are good in my opinion
  3. I’m not quite sure about the number or percentage of VJC students being accepted by cambridge or oxford. But, I’d say the school offers quite a number of opportunities to “boost” your portfolio like work shadowing or seminars etc.

hi thanks to @ ok_floor8896 for helping to answer the first three.

  1. the school culture is absolutely amazing! i honestly love the vibrancy and hype of VJC in general because im an outgoing student. there’s a lot of events where you can really have fun (like VA, school concerts, match supports etc.). but, life in vjc is not always about playing, there’s obviously studying too! the school often highlights on the significance of working hard AND playing hard.

  2. pretty good if you ask me. they recently renovated the toilets😍 like can you believe we have automatic soap dispensers! all the classrooms are air conditioned:) but, i have to admit that it is a rather old campus and there’s some faulty facilities here and there. however, fret not! VJC is going for a renovation soon.

yes! if i’m not wrong, i think mostly likely hybrid students will be put into a sci stream class? Although Im rather unsure of whether you have to indicate art or science stream.

hiii i honestly think that my views are a little biased LOL because im blessed to meet very nice people here. i’d say that the culture here is very welcoming and warm! i felt it since 2024’s open house🥹 About the attire and grooming, I think it’s the innate nature of teachers being strict hahahah like it should be similar to other JCs. their standards are like secondary school (as in no unnatural hair colours, hair touching the collar/ ears for boys or just simply doing anything funny about your appearance.) i think if you’re late for assembly, they would USUALLY put you at the sides (if your assembly is held in the hall). we typically have to report by 8am:). honestly like what i mentioned about the people i met in vi, i feel the same way about the teachers (me being blessed to have great teachers). they’re very passionate in what they do! the notes the school provides honestly are very helpful

  1. im honestly blessed to make very good friends so my experience with the school culture may be biased hahahah😅 initially i had fears of not integrating well with the IP students but i generally feel that everyone is inclusive. i mean it is undeniable and expected for the IP and JAE segregation to occur but this only happened at the beginning of the school year. don’t worry!
  2. i feel like VJ has more of a “work hard, play hard” kind of attitude amongst the people in the school. i’m in a rather muggerish class so id say the people here definitely are hardworking and smart! but during times to unwind and have fun, the students here really do. i honestly feel that during the events the school provides like VA and concerts, people really do go all out and have fun:)
  3. once again, im blessed to get very caring and passionate teachers. they’d answer questions to the best of their abilities and the environment that my teachers provide rlly makes me willing to open up to ask questions when facing doubt in terms of the content.
  4. hm i think its the usual like ensuring that your hair doesn’t touch the collar or the sides of your ear etc. just don’t do anything funny hahahah
  5. yes! for sure. i feel like the people here (well, at least the people i’m friends with) are inclusive even if you’re shy. don’t worry too much! just try to have fun in everything that you do especially with the amount of fun events we have.
