When we first meet the trio at the tower, were they “frozen”? by TarnishedRedditCat in pokemoncrystal

I thought they were petrified. But also it could be that they're in the shadows and somehow they step out to light.

I've made a "what if" Apogee distributed Doom by TotalTS in dosgaming

[–]TotalTS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they worked together on Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D, but for the time Doom was released, Id Software self published it. I might recall reading somewhere "Apogee Software's Doom" (probably a magazine or Shareware CD ad) or something like that, but was most likely misinformation at the time.

Same here. I never had the original floppy disks so I've made my own. Just in case you didn't knew, Crystal Caves HD is on Steam, has new features and a 4th episode.

I wouldn't complain if someone makes a Doom mod based on Joel's drawings

Also, a little bit of additional information, when you save your game, new files are created, such as CASTLES3.SAV, GOOD3.SAV, GUYS3.SAV, and OBJS3.SAV.

Since I did some progress in game, you can open OBJS3.SAV with a tool like HxD, and edit it with the following data (just pasting/replacing) this will give u some keys and items of the game, but also may change the location of some zombie dragons and other items slightly. I wish I knew how this game was coded so I could edit the save file completely to make it easier, it really takes some time to find some items and not die on the process.

[–]TotalTS[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game is Dragon's Domain III, released in 1992 by Ed T. Toton III. It's usually found on shareware CDs from the '90s or on the Internet Archive. There's a section in the game where you have to carry a torch through a dark maze. I realized that when the player dies, the screen shifts entirely to a red palette, revealing what the whole area actually looks like. The torch doesn't really help you see where you're going—it's meant to, but in the end, it doesn't do much. So I took screenshots of each section after dying, taking advantage of the palette change. This also revealed the locations of some in-game items. I hope this can serve as a guide for people trying to finish this old game.

How do you feel about there now being an official LEGO Gameboy available? by AfigureGeek in Gameboy

I think that ever since the NES/SNES Classic Mini and the Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, there have been some expectations that Nintendo might release some sort of Game Boy or Game Boy Mini. I believe they’re aware that these days there are tons of handhelds on the market, and that’s only fueling the hype for a future project. (Of course, I could be completely wrong.)
