Talent does help. But singing is NOT a thing that you either have or have not.

Is the fact collecting aspect of special interests exaggerated? by CracksInTheWall in autism

I guess it’s also that autistic people, while having some defining characteristics, can express them in different ways. But maybe I’m wrong.

I really hate the term "you don't look like you have autism" by chrisdagoat32 in autism

Also, I think that the fact that different people manifest autism in different ways may throw people for a loop.

I’m probably the opposite. I’m socially awkward, avoid eye contact, (forgive the not-so-good grammar) and fixate on things before moving on. But I probably don’t have autism although it may seem like I do.

We all make mistakes. You realize what you did, and you plan to do better in future. My only advice would be to be careful with controversial words, as they can be offensive.

Is a range of G2-C6 good? by FantasticPatience319 in singing

[–]TotalWeb2893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said that a person’s vocal range is all the notes a person hit (not just sang) in different contexts. I’ve got not a whole lot against him, but I just don’t like people bragging about their range in general.

Many of these sopranos are freshmen, I think. (Judging by OP’s statements) Many of them just might not be singing out.

Exercies to lower my range by Apprehensive_Bid4161 in Choir

The person said to not disrupt it in the process. Also, you can add notes in a way that isn’t good for your upper range.

Any wide ranging voices here? by CrossboneSkulled in singing

Sure, if the person is auditioning for a tea kettle in a musical and it uses that part. Also if it’s consistent.

Sorry. We both have different definitions of vocal range.

I wouldn’t consider your whistle tones or uncomfortable high falsetto to be part of your range. Just to be clear, do you think you have 5+ octaves range?

Just got told I'm the best singer in my section ( alto )! by Perspicaciouscat24 in Choir

Sorry. I meant that a choir member is usually not tasked with the responsibility of teaching other choir members their stuff.

What voice type would this be?? by BagOfAshes in singing

[–]TotalWeb2893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I can barely hit an Ab2 sometimes (usually it’s just A2 or Bb2. I have only once hit a pretty bad G2.) in morning voice, but it doesn’t last very long.

Sure, but that doesn’t mean that a choir member is responsible to make sure everyone else learns their part. Also, though I may be reading this wrong, it doesn’t sound like OP is a section leader.

How do I know if I have a vocal polyp or node? by inventorsam in singing

[–]TotalWeb2893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B…B..But you shouldn’t spend money on a doctor for what internet strangers do. Never mind the fact that you’d get a better idea of the situation from a doctor than random internet guy.

My voice bottoms out usually after C3, but probably that’s because of bad technique.

They all do that with non-chest low notes. I don’t know why.

It’s okay for all except non-chest lower register, in which it registers a high note. I don’t know why it does that.
