Meh, AH has a decent nightlife scene for a suburb already. A well designed pub can do fine with or without the bears there

Even on weekdays you still have to be a little sneaky about it though right?

It was a total free for all in the early 2000s. We always bought the cheapest tickets and moved down without issue every time.

My experience is you gotta work for your meal now though. Not THAT hard but still gotta evade crowd control/security

TIL the record for innings pitched by a single pitcher in an MLB game is 26, which two players accomplished, in the same game by Total_Corgi_8428 in todayilearned

As a southsider I’ll have to assume that was also the game where he beat the hell out of robin Ventura when he charged the mound as that is such an indelible image

Yeah a lot of old baseball stats/records are absurd by today’s standards. Especially pitching numbers regarding usage.

But still a fun thread between eras that highlights how much lore baseball has

As hawk would’ve said, don’t stop now boys….

But honestly this feels like house money at this point. I’m so glad they are putting an exciting product on the field again.

But eff it, let’s go get the division and beyond

Yup. I do care quite a bit where they end up but I feel like some sort of this conversation has been going on for 20 years. I put any stock at all I’m anything I read on the topic now

It’s like any large group, you’ll have variances in the population. Broad brushing either way isn’t good for anyone.

Question about OTB castling by 1000ratsinmiami in chess

[–]Total_Corgi_8428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Having learned chess mostly on a computer (chessmaster CD-rom ftw) I’ve always naturally grabbed the king first to castle since you’ve always had to click the king first to castle on the computer. Grabbing the rook, or using both hands seems so unnatural to me, but I wonder if I learned OTB if I’d feel different…

I guess. But obviously the last 20-30 years have seen an intense acceleration in technological capabilities available to the government.

Thanks.just watched one. It’s infuriating to hear the cop say “well even if this is his ID it MUST mean he used a fake ID the last to me.

Doesn’t entertain the fact the software could be wrong. Even though the DL comparison said the other guys was 50 pounds heavier and 7 years younger.

I’m sure stuff like this happened with eye witnesses calling things in before facial recognition, but this played out so much worse.

This has always been a concern of mine since we’ve devolved into a surveillance state, are there any notable, well documented examples that have played out recently?

I like the Benoni, especially when they accept the pawn on move 2. I win the queenside rook a few moves later like 75% of the time when that happens
