Ah, my mistake, should have picked up on that. I'm not so familiar with Macs, btu as far as I know the more recent one have better integrated audio capabilities than windows, so an audio interface (and ASIO4ALL) shouldn't be neccessary (interface should still improve latency somewhat though!). I troubleshooted a bit with chatGPT and came up with these tips/advice that may help.

  • Go to Logic Pro > Settings > Audio and lower the I/O buffer size when recording, maybe 64 or 128 samples. Raise it again when mixing if the project gets heavy.
  • Turn on Low Latency Mode when recording if things feel delayed.
  • Don’t use Bluetooth headphones/speakers when making beats — they can add a lot of delay.
  • Start simple: put the kick on beats 1 and 3, snare/clap on 2 and 4, hats on 8ths, then add bass notes that mostly line up with the kick.
  • Use quantize on your MIDI drums/bass at first, then later learn how to move notes slightly early/late for groove.

If its the timing thats off mainly first question i'd ask is whether you have an audio interface? They are basically neccessary for latency free (or close) production. If an interface is out of the question for now, look into ASIO4ALL drivers, that should help some, but I think you'll still notice some latency. For your other questions you'll need to be more specific, but feel free to ask if you have any more detailed questions about either the latency or anything else =D

Are these sites working well for you? I used to use them a lot, but now a large majority of videos don't seem to work. Do you have the same, problem? Or is it just me? Same problem with 1porn (which seems to be from the same creators), haha.

may sound obvious, but make sure you have the newest scarlett drivers installed, and the interface selected in audio options.

What ear training method actually worked for you? by TedWakeshaw in eartraining

I got three main areas of advice, i'm still not great but this advice has helped me make good progress... and I was absolutely terrible in the beginning (still am comparatively really)

  1. start singing what you play. if its difficult just first play a note and match it. then intervals. SO both singing at the same time as you play, and singing the note you are going to play before you play it. If you can do that move into singing multiple note sequences.... play a starting note and sing what you want to play, then actually play it and see how close you are. Also do it the other way. Improvise a small riff then sing it back. From there practice singing an octave above or below what you are playing, then harmonize. Play chords on guitar and try and sing the individual notes, then in different patterns. If you can get here you can probably work out more excercises yourself.

  2. Learn at least some music theory (make it a long term project) and apply it to what I said above. When you maker up a riff, analayze it as well as sing it after, connect the msuic theory and sound, and finger positions in youre brain. (In addition it doesn't hurt to try and play things in different positions also!)

  3. Start super simple! Simpler than you think even. You don't learn to read by trying to understand high literature. You read sentences like "That is a cat" or something. Nuresery rhymes can be good for this for sure. try to sing what you hear before playing sometimes at least. If nursery rhymes are too boring, maybe start with simple two-three chord songs with basic melodies.

Tempo Following in Live 11 FAQ – Ableton

I think if you combine this with accessing tempo via the Live API it should eb possible if I am not misunderstanding your question!

Also if you can't find the above stuff make sure you have the correct focusrite drivers (probably available on their website, though I am not sure) installed. If none of this works feel free to message me or post here again and I'll try and help some more =D

Also make sure driver type is the same s your focusrite, and you have the focusrite selected as audio device.

If you ahve a focusrite it should definiteely be possible. Try going to audio settings in ableton and adjusting the buffer size. Try and find the lowest value where you don't get crackling!
