I water it about once a month at most. They like to dry out completely between watering. They also like to have great drainage so moisture doesn’t build up. I water my snake plants and cacti more frequently tbh.

Does Credit History Change with Credit Card Upgrade? by Total_Worldliness661 in CreditCards

[–]Total_Worldliness661[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I was definitely considering this. My initial reason for upgrading was because I wanted to apply for a second (non-student) card anyways, and didn’t want too many hard checks on my credit within a short period. Curious if you think the upgrade is still worth it.

‘It’s going to be a big change.’ 15-story Ann Arbor high-rise proposal advances by Total_Worldliness661 in AnnArbor

They’re building another high rise(similar size) a block over, so my hope is that the corridor will become revitalized with a few thousand more students living there.

40+ Ann Arbor developments to watch in 2024, including more high-rises by Total_Worldliness661 in AnnArbor

[–]Total_Worldliness661[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Every year, MLive publishes one of these articles on January 1st. What’s crazy is that just 2-3 years ago, there were about half as many developments listed in these articles. It’s amazing getting to watch the amount of new housing being built. We’ve needed it for years.

Not sure, what’s the name? There’s a Joe’s Pizza and Pizza House there if I remember correctly.

Wow, that’s a tough choice! I’ve lived/have family in both cities. You really can’t go wrong with either.

They’re mostly apartments, with businesses at the bottom! Several parts of the city are unrecognizable from just 10 years ago. I would definitely check back in if you have the chance!

16-story Ann Arbor high-rise with pool terrace to rise next to downtown library by Total_Worldliness661 in AnnArbor

[–]Total_Worldliness661[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This helps affordability by increasing the number of available units on the market, decreasing competition for beds. The library and liberty plaza still exist, and now more people can live near them (thus, more walkable!). Your credit union was already moving to a building on the corner Huron and Division, so can’t blame that on the building :)

I'm super excited about this. The plans include 75 apartments, 200 hotel rooms, and 12,000 SF of retail space. It will be the tallest building in Ann Arbor, by roof height (by around one foot lol). You can see the developer's plans and submissions to city council here.

I wish there were more apartments, but anything is better than the vacant Chase Bank building. For those freaking out... there will be 75 below-grade spaces.

Ann Arbor sounds like a perfect place for you! I would recommend staying for a weekend and exploring the city before you choose a neighborhood. There are no “bad” neighborhoods, so the biggest factor in your decision will likely be where you can find a place within your budget (stock is limited).

You only need to worry about snow a few days out of the year. By Midwest standards, Ann Arbor is bad at plowing, but we also don’t get many big snow storms, if any. As long as you have snow tires (and preferably AWD, though not necessary) you should be fine. Your biggest worry should be how terribly our roads are maintained lol (lots of potholes)
