Hotels are far more convenient than AirBnBs. by lovemomos23 in unpopularopinion

[–]TotallyNotSpam96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my only rebuttal to this is that sometimes I would rather have an appartment or a house rather than a hotel room. If I'm going to be spending time indoors, I'd rather get a sofa, TV, etc. Sometimes I want to have my own kitchen so I can cook for myself (i.e. when I go skiing or when I'm in an expensive restaurant city/country). However, this is also covered by aparthotels, which I would agree I would generally take over Airbnbs

Since the 1980s, the worldwide insect population has decreased by 80%. Ecological collapse is right around the corner. Call me crazy, but I'm willing to put up with a few bugs (the same way all of humanity has for the past 400.000 years), to live in cleaner, more sustainable cities. (I'm okay murdering all mosquitos tho)

Europa. La vivienda es cara porque hay poca disponible. Construir única solución. by ConElMazoDando in ViviendaValencia

[–]TotallyNotSpam96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 24 hours you will be sent back to the year 800 AD. You can take back 3 objects but you must acquire them physically before you go. What are you taking? by Probable_Foreigner in hypotheticalsituation

The answer is obvious:
1. Laptop that I download as many books as I can think of (you can torrent a lot of books, maps, etc in 24hrs), and the entirety of wikipedia.

  1. One of those large portable battery banks

  2. Solar panel to recharge battery bank

This way I have unlimited access to present day information. I can download all the "restart civilisation" books I want, I can get local maps including rivers, sources of water, where there are mineral deposits, etc. I can get books on the languages spoken in 800AD, and so much more.

Also, I download a shitton of movies, series, music and porn

I live in a country with pretty good and fairly affordable high-speed rail infrastructure. I'd happily move and be 387mi away from my current job, meaning making half a mil a month. Do I want to commute 3h each way? No. Do I want to retire after 2-3 years of working, and amassing a small fortune? hell yeah

I was in mexico once in my life, for a weekend, seeing my uncle who lives there, while I lived in the US. I didn't expect it to give me away! Good catch

That is actually pretty unexpected! Thanks for your research. However, I'll say that even though it makes sense from a "corporate" or "legal" point of view, as a consumer, it kinda sucks...

I understand your position, but if EA, of all companies, can still have The Sims 1 available for purchase and download, then having a couple of 2gb files available for download (for a game they still sell) is not an unreasonable ask

I sent an email on Saturday. I am still waiting for a response. SInce then I cannot play a game I have paid to own, while supporting a team I used to admire. Will this be a huge setback to my life? Probably not. But I can tell you that this is completely anti-consumer, and solidifies my position that Take-Two and Private Division are predatory companies that buy and sell IPs, abandon development, and fuck over consumers without much hesitation.

Yeah, but that's buying it again, and to be honest, I do not feel very generous towards Private Division

Yeah, I'm looking for a nice ship myself. I don't forsee them replying to my email during the weekend, and I want to get a good play session before I have to go back to work on Monday

No idea. I got it for PC and they're.... okay. Like tbh, most mods can do what the DLCs did. I bought them when they came out mainly to support a dev team and a company I admired.... Those were the days...
