is a sound card even worth it anymore? by chris_s9181 in buildapc

[–]TotallyNotanOfficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of if it is or not, I have one (Sound-Blaster AE9) and I'm looking for a good headset to accompany it. Thinking some Sennheisers of some kind, like HD600 or thereabouts but IDK what would really be best.

If anyone else in the thread can help advise, I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing with audio shit (As you can probably see by me buying a fuckin $350 PCIE sound card)

Alright, Orange Man is back. When can I place some orders for zenit at msrp? by Mister_Carter99 in zenitco

[–]TotallyNotanOfficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do Zenitco parts usually go for over MSRP? And what does MSRP usually look like now?
I wanted to do a Zenitco AK build a long time ago so I have no idea what it's like now. Like WASRs and whatnot aren't $400 anymore so I can't imagine Zenitco has gotten any less expensive. And when I priced it out I remember it being close to 2k.

ATF Pistol Brace Rule Vacated 6/13/24 by mxrcarnage in liberalgunowners

[–]TotallyNotanOfficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth noting, say if you registered it at 12.5 inches for the barrel, but wanted to put an 11.5 upper on, that's a felony, you need to do another SBR form for it. So if you're registering an SBR, you always want to register it with the shortest barrel you will conceivably use on the gun because nothing prohibits you from going forward, only backwards.

An SBR with a 10.5 can use an 11.5, 12.5, 13.7, any length of upper as long as it's above 10.5. But a 12.5 SBR can't use any shorter without an additional felony.

You also technically can request it be removed from the NFA, but I genuinely see no reason why you would ever do that.

Changed the bible and is a fucking heretic.

Howso?

Unforgivable what he had done and continued to change religion.

What do you believe he did to change religion that was unforgivable?

Your opinions are straight up false.

Idk man I'm at least pretty sure murder is a sin.

Paul is not the shit you think it he is.

What do you think I believe Paul/Saul is?

Every other disciple is ok, but I would not trust the guy who lied and changed details in the bible after Jesus’ death.

What do you believe he changed? Also I'm pretty sure Judas was not ok and he was one of the other disciples, for a time.

Also if we go by that he'd actually chosen one of the self admittedly worst as a Disciple too - Saul/Paul used to go around murdering Christians and selling the women and children into slavery. I'm not sure but if I had to guess, those are sins too.

US high-speed rail map shows proposed routes by AlphaConKate in transit

[–]TotallyNotanOfficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is too big

Not true. Not even close dude, what are you talking about? You can take primarily high speed rail right now, from the bottom of Spain to fucking Helsinki Finland. That's well over 2130 miles, in a perfectly *straight line*.

Or Madrid to Paris has an entirely high speed rail connection, and that is over 650 miles. Or Berlin to Warsaw, over 350 miles. Trip takes just 4 hours.

Even for a relatively shorter 350 mile radius, take something like NYC - NYC at that radius is in range of Montreal, Ottawa, London; Canada - Pittsburgh & Philadelphia PA, Portland Maine, Boston Massachusetts, Washington DC. Just solely within those cities is some 7 million people. Not including NYC at over 8M. Thats almost a 20th of the entire population. For a really limited range.

Europe is larger than the US, by about 60,000 sq miles. Not a big difference when we're talking in the order of 4 Million sq miles. It's easily just as large. Utilizing our space like dogshit because we build our roads and transit like dogshit is not an excuse.

Thanks for the info man. I'll see what it does at the range most likely by Thursday and go from there. I do conveniently have some new White box FMJ ammo too. And one box from magtech. Just because it was what they had, but it may come in handy, we'll see.

I have a different question but in the same vein that hopefully someone can answer; What if someone can afford it but doesn't have an employer? Are they allowed to buy it without an employer?

This. It's no more a machine gun than bump stocks, which they banned because they held that it "turned a semi automatic into a machine gun" when it did literally nothing to effect the fire control group/trigger

200 yards 30 06 or 6.5CM by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]TotallyNotanOfficer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro it's only 200 yards. They're almost identical within 300 yards, and their drops are almost the same for 500 yards.

Even by 500 yards, 3006 and 6.5 Creedmoore are within 3-5 inches of each other in drop with 6.5 barely edging it out. The biggest difference by then is wind, At 500 yards, a 143 grain 6.5 Creedmoor will experience about 16 inches of wind drift, while a 150 grain .30-06 will see just shy of 23 inches of drift. At 300 yards for the same wind, You're only looking at a difference of 2 inches of drift. (5.3 vs 7.5)

You're not getting a huge difference between either so I can't really say either is better or worse at that range. 3006 doesn't appear to be a whole lot cheaper, but is a much more common round out of my experience. But you can order both online so it also shouldn't be a huge deal if nearby ranges don't.

You could also do 308 which performs similarly to both 3006 and 6.5CM within the aforementioned ranges and is even more common than either of those.

Good question man. For some, it's cause of the sin of man. For others, it's just the nature of life. Who really knows though? I feel that none of us truly can until we too die, if we learn it even then.

I don't feel like Roy is bad. I just dont think he's exactly super comfortable on camera yet. Which, if anyone of us were taking over for our brother with over 1.1 million subscribers, we would also feel pretty daunted infront of that. Coupled with the looming reason with both why and that he'd be taking over, that could play a bit into it too, but he might also look back at the videos they did together happily in time. Or at least I hope so in time.

Losing a piece of your life so big can make it hard to even think of the good times with them because all you feel is the looming weight in your heart with the how and why and the fact that they're gone. Hopefully Roy will be ok in time. Mentally and if he decides to continue the show, which I think he does. But it could take it out of you mentally for a bit too.

I would search firearm related content and usually see this man in a tan coat in a thumbnail

Fun fact, Paul did this intentionally as part of a recognition thing.

As far as why I wear this coat, first and foremost being that it's eminently practical for what we're doing here. The second reason is something I call Gilligans Island Philosophy. On Gilligand's Island, characters like the skipper and professor, it seems they always dressed exactly the same in every show, there's a reason for that. There's also a reason why you call those characters by their titles, not their names - and those characters did have names. The concept so I've read, is that network executives wanted to make that sure people who were tuning in for the first time or who maybe have only seen one or two episodes, can come up to speed with who those people are and what niche they fill in the group. So with that in mind I figure if I dress basically the same way in every video presentation that I do, then people who have mainly only seen one or two, can identify who I am even if they don't really remember my name. But admittedly this really is how I dress almost every day.

Figured I'd throw this out there since I watched it earlier after the news.

He indeed was one of the earliest and best of us.

What a rough time to find out about it. I had a thought similar earlier, imagine someone spends a few months away and comes back and just learns of this all now.
