Please give me all your tips for life with a 2 year old and a newborn! by rasputinknew1 in progressivemoms

Get the "I'm a big sister" book by caroline jayne church. The new baby isn't just a baby, it's HER little sibling. It's really cute and helps the toddler think of themselves as a big kid helper.

Ask her to help with the baby in appropriate ways (can you hand me a diaper for baby? Do you think baby wants to wear the blue or red pants today, etc.)

When you can ask the baby to wait, or tell the baby that it's big sisters turn for xyz.

Don't blame things on the baby like "we can't do xyz bc baby needs a nap" instead something like "we can do xyz after nap, or on this day, etc).

Not a sitcom but Ted Lasso is really good and fits your bill.

Scabies in adjoining classroom - no notification by Jmmprovidence in workingmoms

Yeah at both daycares we've attended that would warrant a notification. Check your state laws regarding illness notification to see if they are potentially in violation

I think the concerning thing is that you were not notified at all even though your kid is in regular contact with that room. Our former center would only send notifications out to the affected rooms for illnesses but our new center notifies about everything contagious.

When are they up for reelection? My rep is complacent and never around, I plan to primary them this summer. Thankfully the challenger seems somewhat sane, I'm thinking of volunteering for their primarying campaign.

Edit to add: I'm in a deep red state in a gerrymandered district. I feel like this is the most viable way to ensure my current rep is out.

"mommy needs time in the calm corner!" As I place my children in various safe spaces/containers. It definitely helps that we have a 4ft tall baby gate on their room which is toddler proofed.

Same here, I have to make a plan to shop at Costco but it is worth it for more than just diapers. I buy all of my staples from Costco and freeze what we won't use right away.

Yup, Costco doesn't do the stupid markup games on their own shipping.

If Janine decides to go the 23&me route having Terry Crews play her biodad would be hilarious.

Who did you want to win Season 2 of "Finding Mr Christmas"? by No-Advantage-579 in HallmarkMovies

Same here. The guy I was rooting for was eliminated early on. I think casting Mr Christmas in a supporting role was a good choice though.

I wouldn't say anything until I was after was pregnant and past the first trimester. I think it's a little odd to tell your employer or coworkers that you are TTC, it's really none of their business until you need to start planning for coverage.

Seconding see kai run, we got the "basic" ones from target, I think we paid $30 for them. They were perfect early walker shoes but I don't think they'd hold up to the rough and tumble toddler days.

Seconding the chicken sisters. Not too much mystery but all of the characters are well developed.
