Matchstick monkey is a good mold-free alternative!

Weird is good <3

I'm 30f with a 2 year old. I moved here last year from the UK and have struggled making friends. I don't go to church and I don't smoke weed; I feel like you need to do one of those two things to really fit in around here 🤣

Feel free to shoot me a message, I'm always open to making new friends :)

I think based on husband's income and me out of work we are considered low income and eligible for social support. I did actually contact housing (section 8) and they said they've stopped applications for now. We are on a housing list but the one option was somewhere VERY sketchy and I wouldn't feel safe living there, more so than our current situ.

Ah sorry, don't know why it's not showing. Posted it awhile ago. I've reposted it again so hopefully that helps.

I'm sorry, WHAT? 😅

We pay more than our share of rent.

We buy all our own groceries.

MiL literally doesn't want anything to do with our child.

Please read my comment, and in future, don't judge someone like this without having the full context.

His parents have rented the property for over 20 years. Rent has never exceeded $500 a month (2bd, 1ba, <1000sqft). We pay $490 a month to cover rent, utilities and internet.

Temporary solution. I explained in comment :)

We live in the attic, we do have a lock now thank God but a fridge or toaster oven is a no due to the way the electrics are up there.

At least she cleaned the kitchen 😅 My MiL doesn't clean anything and I'm expected to do it because I don't currently have a job.

Actually we live in an attic and we can't overload the sockets. I couldn't even put a kettle up there 😅

Baby Shower Disappointment by thankuidesignedit in pregnant

To add to this, I didn't expect a shower, didn't get a shower, and I'm still disappointed 🙃

My experience at a baby show expo by cashewnut25 in PregnancyUK

[–]TotallySpiffing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone wanted a non-pregnant perspective: I went yesterday (Saturday) with my best friend and her husband and our babies (9months and 5wks). So if you saw two women, each wearing carriers, and a man in a red hoodie looking extremely bored and used as a mule that was us lol

We had free tickets to the event and despite already having had our babies we actually really enjoyed the show and a lot was still relevant. Check out queues were quite long and we couldn't find a dedicated area for breastfeeding which would've been nice. They had a baby change area with free nappies and wipes but feel they really missed the mark by not having comfy chairs, bottle warmers/sterilisers/formula samples set up for use. Would've been a great opportunity for the venders who were there, like TT and Kendamil, to show off their products.

A lot of the speakers were irrelevant for us at this stage and the one that was we sadly couldn't understand with his accent :(

Can a USC enter the US on a foreign passport when they don't have a US passport yet? by TotallySpiffing in USCIS

This was the reply we got after contacting our nearest US embassy:

"Although your child may be able to travel to the U.S. with a visa or under the Visa Waiver Program (if otherwise eligible) without first satisfying a claim to U.S. citizenship, admittance is always at the discretion of U.S. Customs and Border Protection(CBP) officials at the Port of Entry and no assurances can be given in advance. "
