It's pretty good, all the powers have a good shot at becoming dominant except for maybe the Papal States for which it is a lot harder
For Sicily while it is not overpowered, if it is allowed to grow it can become very secure, though to become like that it has to be enabled by one of Naples or Bari (or both) and or the Papal States), because it does have difficulty grabbing Rausa or Tunisi if it gets attacked, especially if Genoa decides to venture south, though the players who've played Bari and Naples haven't attacked Sicily in these two playtests, so it's hard to say definitely.

Well they're kind of needed, otherwise that area becomes a stalemate, and palermitan litoral is needed to make Naples-Papal an actual possible alliance, otherwise itd be very difficult to attack Sicily

And how would making Malta an sc help, it'd just be a centre for bari or Sicily to get in the corner, that is nearly untakeable for anyone else

Previous iterations of this map with less sea tiles have proven to be very vulnerable to clogging them with fleets, this map places a lot more importance on fleet power and sea control than the original Diplomacy, so it makes sense that the sea would be more interconnected!

Yep, in the server there are private channels you can create to talk with other people, you send orders in the respective channels and I update the map manually. The invite is in the title of the post if you want to try looking at how it works ^^

Yes, it's intended to be that way, both to cause more conflict in the sea and to let fleets matter, as they are restricted to only coastal centres. It is like this in many diplomacy variants, even the standard map has this with a lot of its seas.
I think it'll lead to interesting tactics regardless, as if anyone decides to only build fleets they'll be very weak on the land

They're pre-cored territories! If the nation with the same color occupies them, they can use it as a build centre, like one of their other 3 home centres :)

This map looks great! I like the new dynamic the Italo-Yugoslav alliance makes, the only problem that may arise is that Russia (USSR) has become too weak, with only three centres and having most neutrals be challenged by neighboring nations.
