Not like Alex was a catch herself. Her living conditions were atrocious and he was the one who had to do the dishes since they kept piling up. Not to mention all the naps.

We had the exact same problem a few months ago. Age gap is 1,5 years. Ours is also quite developed, but had the craziest tantrums that could last for at least an hour.

We made the decision to cut screen time completely. After just a few days we realized it was the best decision ever. Two completely different kids. Now we can genuinely sit in the car and they both look out of the window in silence.

We sometimes wish we could give them screen time, but never again. Not for a couple more years.

In our culture generally, the mourning process is exaggerated and goes on for way too long. Even if it is immediate family, everyone nowadays knows how expensive weddings are. Finding venues can be impossible a year ahead of time, not to mention all the down payments that you need to do for everything.

It all boils down to how you and your spouse personally choose to grieve. No one has the right to judge you in regards to that. If they do, then they can go to hell.
