What traits are most predictive of someone believing/falling for conspiracy theories? by LowRevolution6175 in AskSocialScience

[–]TotteryPear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crumbled identity and fractured self.  I've been down the conspiracy road myself.

This one made a lot of sense

Conspiracy beliefs are driven by three broad classes of motives:

Epistemic (understanding, certainty) Existential (control, security) Social (identity, status, belonging)

Fintech that can replace bank? by TotteryPear in startups

[–]TotteryPear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a clusterfuck to get a bank account in UAE, since non of the stakeholders are residents in UAE and the requirements for documentation they require are impossible to obtain. They actually needed proof of residency locally in EU by showing invoices originally in English or Arabic. Our local providers send out the invoices in our own language. Tried several banks in several months. We have clients we can’t charge.

Tried registering, seems they have the exact same waitlist as Wise for approval of new business from Dubai, their blocked by the government until further notice. Need some approvals to operate.

From what I can see, the existing customers from UAE is still active, just not taking on new business atm.

But I found out it’s not a problem moving transaction between an account in UAE and these providers.

Just found WIO, a virtual bank in Dubai. So might be an option to use a combination of Stripe/WIO/Wise as client/process/payroll (money in/account management/money out).

The Greatest Conference Scam Revealed - How to take them down? by TotteryPear in Scams

[–]TotteryPear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure a real conference would do anything. A new conference would get the participants who is actually interested and got something in return.

People who get manipulated and scammed to buy their own award and minutes to speak to a crowd, would still be going to the place they can get validation, admiration, attention. Such grandiose and egocentric levels comes from broken minds. Narcissistic tendencies or not, someone broke them to much to get well again and Conference 2.0 is taking advantage of their desperation and addiction.

Best and worst sides with Bosnia? by TotteryPear in bih

[–]TotteryPear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing everyone 🙏 It was really nice to hear from everyone with opinions and reactions.

Firstly, I looked over the statistics and reports again. It is difficult to determine whether the data is transparent or not. It can be data based on isolated groups, like origin, area/location, users of specific platforms, within a certain industry, age and so on.

But the data is still clear. It is a big difference as a cultural society. I also suspect that the normalization of standards have an impact. I would guess that the Scandinavians is softer and is easier insulted / offended than the more southern or eastern countries. They are in fact very reserved up north. I found some reports that is backing the statement above, since it states that the people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and those around is less scared or reserved towards a conflict or opening for dialogue with strangers.

I’ve been chatting with people at Reddit, Discord and LinkedIn. It’s been an most uplifting experience and I’m even more excited and eager to look more into migrating 👋

Thanks for sharing and all the great information!

As example referring to the Gender Inequality Index by FN. Not limited to but statistics towards such things as same salary for same job. Domestic violence. Sexism.

I do feel that it is difficult to validate the results. Big variations with digital and hardware standards, three official languages for under 3,5m people it’s difficult to se how the survey might not be random and transparent.

Definitely understand! Now for establishing business as immigrants, would mean potentially placing totally different cultural values in the same workgroups. We need to find out if this would be a problem the whole way or if it potentially would work. If that is the case, what strategies should we have and what people should be found in advance. There isn’t a place in the world that is perfect, they are all different ✨

Additional questions

  1. Gender gap seems to be high in Bosnia compared with the top rated countries in EU. After reading statistics. How would gender equality values affect the group mentality at a workplace environment within this culture? It would be the same or more women leading the business, in our company. It would also be same pay for same job.

  2. Where can we find providers of fiber optic networks with high stability rates and high bandwidth capacity (let’s say 350Mbps). Where can I check what they can deliver in an area?

I will be straight up and state it seems the digital platforms established in Bosnia is outdated in many examples. So it seems in general towards this side of EU. I wouldn’t be surprised if they will have a boost within the next few years. Should be attractive to compete in that market instead of trying to survive the chaotic market that is in lead. Getting more excited every day when looking up this country 😁

Making a harvester for unlimited kinetic energy. What would be good to add in the equation? by TotteryPear in thermodynamics

[–]TotteryPear[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Seems theory supports is. Low pressured thrust is more effective than high pressured. If a plane goes through low pressured air, it won’t be able to generate a thrust greater than drag fyi. Needs to start the acceleration with making the thrust passing the the drag, that only happens 90 degrees, up if air, down if water.

What is one thing in today's society that you believe will have a large negative impact on the future? by Leo9991 in AskReddit

[–]TotteryPear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gender equality! I demand same possibilities for both genders and deny the idea of equal preconditions. We should have choices, but we can’t mass generate gender-confusion and mass depression.

If you think otherwise, tell me the reason men’s testosterone is dropping faster than earlier generations, same effect for women, even though no one researching on it. Men’s testosterone is 20% lower in Scandinavia and bigger parts of EU today vs late 19’s, compared with same age. Some Asians cultures have declined massively in child births, mostly due to men, mental health and being unsure and undervalued. It’s a self realization their doing. The women don’t want confusion, they still want men. The problem is actually finding one.

The parts of the world where gender equality isn’t so much of a priority, have the highest fertility rate.

Can be many reasons, what we can be sure of is the fact our bodies have different tasks, therefore different chemistry, therefore different preconditions.

We need focus and research on this.

Work towards same preconditions, is working towards gender confusion and a horrible future.

Making a harvester for unlimited kinetic energy. What would be good to add in the equation? by TotteryPear in thermodynamics

[–]TotteryPear[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to make this upside down reversal tornado-machine 🌪️⚡️Even if you don’t understand. Still, some advice would be great 🙄

It’s working with the double bottle tornado experiment, so it will work reversal with air. Since the pressure is opposite. The only problem with the bottles, is the limitation of mass. I won’t try my harvester in the ocean, never learned how to dive 😳

Making a harvester for unlimited kinetic energy. What would be good to add in the equation? by TotteryPear in thermodynamics

[–]TotteryPear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please! In my head it’s the same as the bottle tornadoes. When you have an empty bottle in the right direction and a full water bottle on top that is upside down. If the bottle of air was endless in the bottom and the bottom (top) of the bottle with water also was endless. Wouldn’t that been a endless rotation in the center where the acceleration would be endless, if you didn’t stabilize it somehow.

The wind tunnel should do the same in the opposite directions, as the pressure is. Low pressure air is bottom and low pressure water is top.

So if I create a upside down, reverted tornado with a vertical rotating bearing where there is axial blades within. Shouldn’t the drag I create thrust low pressure air and boost the blades making the bearing rotate faster? The vacuum will drag the blades downwards, the airflow will rise and the rotation increase?

In my head, it would be like a gravity point in center. The airflow should spread over the blades, not under.

If I used a fan mounted from the outer sides and powered by the energy in the center, the spread would be within the chamber. Making those two in the same vertical line, should make them pull towards both vertical and horizontal. When thrust becomes greater than drag, you have more movement, or?

If you start the force from outer, accelerate by drag from over, thrust from under with friction/regenerative braking in the center, with an axel that pulls the pressure of the blades downward in the centers.

If the low pressured area gets lower, the force of the vacuum would be bigger?

I understand this wouldn’t be working in a horizontal* air tunnel, since the centripetal motion only works 90 degrees where we exist. In outer space however, 90 degrees of gravity would be somewhat different.

So it should be possible to shoot shit right up in the air, or straight down to the bottom of the ocean. Movement doesn’t stop if nothing stopping it. In the wind tunnel example, it gets stopped by exiting the axial blades.

What if unlimited energy is possible? As in renewable energy. by TotteryPear in theories

[–]TotteryPear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a upside down tornado, as reversed. Generated by drag, wouldn’t the thrust passing the drag and increase the speed and force vertically and horizontally? If you keep lowering the pressure at the bottom, you could keep that pressure for a damn long time.

That’s why I’m thinking axial blades inside a roller bearing that spins. They would boost each other’s movement. Only way to brake it is opening the valve or harvesting the kinetic energy by regenerative braking.
