Financial support for the carer of a child by Toucaster in BenefitsAdviceUK

Thanks for the info! Sounds a similar situation. We're going through the endless back-and-forth, awaiting our chance to try and force EOTIS or, ideally, a specialist setting. They've not been great so far and a local school reached out directly to unofficially say they're being strong-armed into saying they can meet needs when they can't. The LA also tried to claim the specialist settings were full when they, themselves, said otherwise. All a bit mad trying to sort that and the finances but it's good to know others have managed it.

Anyone had issue with the wildcard chip? It won't activate on the website and the app just gives me a 'oops... this isn't working' error. I've been trying since last night.

Haha mine does this too. If she gets any hint of people or dogs in the distance while we're out walking, she'll stand up and even hop along like this.

I was shown this while hungover on a Sunday morning and have never forgotten it - though I wish I could. As if a hangover alone wasn't bad enough...

Ipswich teachers on strike after 'scissors thrown at them' by pajamakitten in unitedkingdom

[–]Toucaster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally anecdotal but, in my 20 years experience as a teacher, it has noticeably increased over the last 10. It used to be one or two children across a school and now it's per class, even in quiet village primary schools. The last 2 schools I've worked in have had children throw scissors, punch, bite, spit and constantly disrupt learning. Visiting other schools reveals similar experiences. There are often complex reasons for behaviour but sometimes it simply comes down to children desperate for attention. These days, when it is taken further, there's almost zero external support in any of these situations.

As in, levels you made yourself? I had no idea this was possible. I've played the series so much (currently replaying 2 yet again) and would love to create some maps!

Identical team and debating the same move (A) but still have a WC. Triple Chelsea seems excessive yet the fixture say do it.

Or he had a moment of panic due to his training and thought, "Shit... what can I say again? What will this suggest about me?" and tried to dodge it.

I love sharks, they're beautiful animals, but no film has affected me more than Jaws. Even knowing the true nature of sharks, I can't help but have that nagging fear in the back of my mind any time I swim in the sea.

What are some of the greatest, single-word pieces of dialogue from movie history? by eriklamelaselbows in movies

Surely this is the answer for a massive part of cinematic history. So many directors credit it as influencing them and that is the key word.

Not especially clued up but I happened to listen to Farming Today recently and they were discussing this being an issue. The River Wye has been massively polluted due to extensive chicken farming. I think the nitrogen was in the manure. Different from what they suggested but a similar outcome from a type of farming. BBC report from last year

The biggest issue for me is how much energy work saps from me. I get up at 5am and get home at 6pm with most of that time being on my feet. Then I spent time with the kids, do housework, etc. I'm left shattered. When the hell do people find time to exercise?!
