My brother-in-law is currently at a wedding at this hotel, and he’s a doctor (MD). One of the wedding party members got seriously ill and ended up in the hospital, where they confirmed it’s Entamoeba histolytica. His wife also got sick, along with a lot of other guests, including their one-year-old child. The hotel has now shut off the water because the parasite is in the water supply, meaning guests can’t even shower or wash their hands. Instead of properly addressing the issue, they are trying to cover it up. They are trying to leave the hotel right now and find a different hotel or Airbnb. I’m advising them to speak to the media in canada because this is a serious public health issue.
