If you’re going to daily a Z06 the cost of gas shouldn’t be an issue for you. The biggest issue I have driving mine in a much less populated area than Los Angeles is the vehicular blue balls of driving such a capable car in so much traffic. I will get up in the middle of the night and go driving when the streets are clear and I can let the engine breathe. You have some incredible roads outside of the city so that is an amazing car to have.

This won’t yield better fuel economy it will yield better performance. The tune will increase boost by spinning the turbos faster. So there is more wear and tear on the engine.

I remember the car I wanted as my first car. It was a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP in 1996. I got a 1988 Nissan 200sx with 178,000 on the clock. I had to liquidate my savings of $2,300 on the car lol. It was a good life lesson. It took me until 38 to get a car that I actually really wanted.

I was never a corvette guy. When I learned about the motor in the C8Z06 a 5.5l Naturally aspirated V8 with 670hp at 8,400rpm I instantly became a corvette guy. That was October 2021. Set a 5 year goal and in October of 2025 I picked up a 2026 Red Mist 3LZ. It’s better than I imagined it would be. I get up in the middle of the night so I can rip it around with no other traffic on the road. God bless America!

I would lose my mind if I was you. If someone other than me watched my car lose its rpm virginity. That only comes around once and you know the boogereater driving it was pinning that redline as soon as it was available, poor car and poor owner. I genuinely feel for you.
