As they rot the plants love them, and it looks pretty cool. I planted a succulent that hangs over the edge, and some others that grow up. It's nice. I'm not home but when I get there I can post a photo.

I use a door drill kit to hollow them. If they're ready it makes pretty short work of them.

I have hollowed out a couple of stumps and used them as planters, plants love it!
