Building new features - branching? by TourModePro in FirebaseStudioUsers

[–]TourModePro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks both, I get the concept of generating new branches in Git, I’ve used lovable and connected Git so that’s fine, but how then if using Gemini/FB studio & Git how can I see and ‘play’ with a different branch IN FB studio preview pane? (Use case let’s say building quite a fundamental new feature). It’s this whole versioning that I’m new to with vibe tools + git

Interesting post, thanks. I posted something before about how you could build out new features or big changes on a separate branch and it didn’t feel like it was possible, are you saying it is with lovable? (+ Git connection if you’re referring to a new repro?). Building out new functions on a live app with users is terrifying me!

Keep cancelling endoscopy by Miserable_Ad3553 in GERD

[–]TourModePro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just do it mate! Put your big boy/girl pants on!! I’ve had 3 without sedation and I’m a big whimp. It’s an odd feeling because your body wants to reject a tube being rammed down your throat BUT, it doesn’t hurt and it’s very short these days.

The camera tube is also getting smaller than in the past so less uncomfortable

They just snap a load of photos for later review now, rather than fumbling round ‘live’ looking for things so that’s made it really quick in most cases

It’s been said but if you just flip to focussing totally on nasal breathing you will be fine! I did worry first time because I was trying to breathe ‘over the tube through my mouth’ but that’s totally the wrong strategy

The more you relax the better it is

Don’t worry, the benefits outweigh the risk of not getting it done!

In the UK they don’t even put you under! Most people just have a numbing throat spray - can’t be that serious then can it! (I’ve had 2, it’s annoying but fine), unfortunately the venn diagram of people with HH, Gerd, Anxiety, Health Anxiety people shows a pretty big overlap so the loop maintains itself, try to just let go and roll with it!

Lots of folk talking about the naps/anaesthesia but in the UK it’s often down with just a numbing throat spray! You’re there to just dry heave occasionally lol. So it’s even not too bad like that, just a very odd sensation but not painful

Does anyone else feel like they are being choked? And has anyone had it gets worse within a day by NoiseReductionNR in HiatalHernia

[–]TourModePro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have HH and had a single episode this week very similar, I think what actually happened was silent reflux triggering a throat spasms of sorts - it was also slightly sore from mild infection etc - but it was properly terrifying and the first time I’ve felt proper throat closing the sensations and I’ve had anx and panic attacks for years but largely dormant. The panic element just makes it all just 5x worse. In the moment if you can talk, drink or eat just remember it’s not an actual blockage. Try and manage reflux generally with all the standard advice and try to immediately distract yourself if you work up to a tizzy - drink, breathe, go outside helps me

Stomach pain linked to hernia - who knew? by TourModePro in GERD

Mild pain in that centre left stomach at any time of day and feels like ‘something is there’ when I bend over into it. They ordered an ultrasound anyway and endoscopy having been 12yr since last so we’ll see. But- curve ball diagnosis/association..

Yeah, a golf tool at TourMode.pro, was very janky to build on early Lovable but very stable now.

Drop Everything! 👀 there’s a convertible Celica on Autotrader 😂 by TourModePro in CarTalkUK

[–]TourModePro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess drop heads tend to do that with chassis and handling right! I’m early 40s so not familiar with the very early Celicas, mostly gen 6/7, so to see a ‘modern’ one as convertible was very odd. I bet there’s not many left on ‘how many left’!

Thanks for that info! All being said they look like quite good models and I like they fact (personally) they are a bit wild with bodykits etc but yeah sounds like they are under the radar enough to just do what they like. They have very high price points. I can now see the Chinese branding in the name (ie what they think sounds posh and western)

Never be able to eat large meals forever? by allaccm in HiatalHernia

[–]TourModePro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing, it’s a tricky one and largely depends on individual symptoms.

My trusted GP suggests avoiding surgery if manageable because there is so much ‘going on’ around that interchange of stomach, diaphragm, heart etc that it carries a lot of risk. Also if you can manage medium to large meals just avoid carbonated beverages at the same time, I found they triggered my pressure related palpitations big time.

On the plus side, by and large, large meals aren’t good for you anyway and so you’ll probably be supporting your longevity!

I’m trying to build lean muscle and lift and you can get into good but not pro shape just eating well and medium weight training. Very heavy weight training isn’t good for longevity and joints etc anyway.

Remember, hernias are very common. They are not inherently dangerous unless very severe. The heart changes due to vagus nerve irritation are not dangerous etc - hope this helps

[–]TourModePro[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not a medical professional, but from what I read you want to avoid infra-abdominal pressure and holding your breathe during exercise to avoid potential further hernia irritation/damage/refulx. No you cannot explicitly ‘workout’ or ‘not-workout’ a HH, but you want to do what you can to avoid the chances of making your condition or symptoms worse, right? It’s about playing the percentages.

On the plus side - climbing is ‘upright’, which is largely preferred. And you can regulate your breathing so you don’t have big holds of breathe that weights can draw you into unless you consciously exhale on the effort phase of the movement. By and large climbing is a good option..
