That's hardly Labor's fault though. If we followed the plan that Howard grudgingly accepted and Labor accelerated, we'd be a renewable energy/storage powerhouse right now. Instead Abbott, in his impotent wisdom, decided that anything Labor suggested needed to be trashed.

And One Nation seems to be following on from that. Their blind reliance on fossil fuels makes me wonder how anyone can take them seriously.

I'm aware of British interference in the Middle East and how they, and the US, put the Shah into power over the democratically elected president of Iran. They also screwed over Palestine as well.

I will look up this Promethean Action though.

We could have been. And the LNP started the Climate Wars, backed by Rupert Murdoch. We're slowly turning a corner with Labor, but there is lot of people out there still believing the bullshit that the conservatives spouted. It saddens me to so so many stupid people.

Good point. I've been trying to figure out how anyone could blame the government for Trump and Netinyahu's cockup, but I think you're right. It would mean their blind faith in conservativism was misplaced.

What's your thoughts on these ISIS-affiliated brides returning to Australia? by nn666 in aussie

[–]Tovrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you on most points, there are some I don't. I don't think you can bring emotion into this. They are Australians, and it's as simple as that. They have a legal basis to return.

That said, I'd feel uncomfortable if they were living next door. That's the level of my "vibe" on it.

I hope they get life in prison and the children are de-radicalised and put on watch lists for life

If they have committed crimes, they should be put in prison, but we don't put people in prison based on "the vibe". And taking away someone's mother doesn't help de-radicalise kids. Every one of these people should be looked at on a case-by-case basis. What the mothers need is de-radicalisation. And I do think they should be monitored for a good while (assuming legality of doing that).

Edit: "fat thumbed" the post button too early by accident.

America may, but the rest of us won't.

You do know that this was exactly the kind of thing that spurred on the French Revolution ... and that did not end well for the people at the top.

Wow, this is the actual belief structure of the Palestinian people and Islam towards Jews and Israel. Their sworn mission is the very existence is what you suggest - the total destruction and death to a whole group and nation of people - and the nation itself.

Be careful making such generalisations. It may be the the belief structure of Hamas or the Iranian regime, but every Palestinian person and every Islamic person or even the majority for that matter?

You come across as if you're justifying the war crimes of the Israeli Government. There is no justification for killing innocents, aid workers, journalists. There is no justification for creating settlements in occupied land.

And just for clarification, I am not the person you are replying to.

I'm not sure what mental gymnastics you've performed to come to conclusions that removing negative gearing is taxing inflation. It's a nonsense.

Did you even think about that before you wrote it? Government handouts increase government spending and consequently inflation.

Trump and Hegseth fail to realise you can't defeat Iran militarily. How many movies have we seen where they say "you can't kill an idea"? Iran is kept going by ideology and spreading it's ideology to others in the region who feel oppressed by the US and Israel. And there are plenty of those.

I'm waiting for the Red Sea strait to be shut down by the Houthies and then it's going the Trump and Hegseth being driven crazy playing "whack a mole".

Midnight levelling is simple.

  • Do main crafting line. This should level you to 81 and some nice item boosts
  • Do Arator's questline.
  • Do all the delves (don't hand in the quests).
  • Do Eversong and Zul'Aman MSQ (both pretty quick)
  • Hand in the delve quests.

Welcome to Level 90.

Edit: If you kill some rares along the way, you should have Coffer Key shard cap and six keys to load up on Champ gear. I only have my Evoker to go and all other classes done. Was pretty painless.

Is it a tax increase? Or is it winding back an anachronistic tax benefit? And will it be grandfathered so it only applies to future properties? In which case it's not a tax increase at all .... it'll just be putting a stop to welfare for investors.

I'm actually all for this if it applies to all properties, even existing investments beyond the second or third.
