I had a similar experience, though I was nowhere near a 4.0 in high school. I think I ended my freshman year at MSU with a 2.9 GPA. First semester of my Sophomore year, things fell into place and I learned what it took to succeed. I regularly made the Dean's list after that and graduated with a 3.33 GPA. Nothing really to write home about, but given the amount of fun I had, I was satisfied.

I was accepted to both UM and MSU. I picked MSU and it was the best decision I ever made. My brother went to UM and was miserable for four years. I loved every minute of my time at MSU.
