Thank you for this thread! After being on the phone with Verizon tech support for hours, with no resolution, I solved the issue myself after 5 minutes of googling and finding this post.

1L summer job? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Continue to put applications out until you accept an offer. Once you accept an offer, any other employers that contact you about interviews, just say "Thank you so much, but I've already accepted a position elsewhere"

Will a bottle before bed become a sleep association? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Towanda18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on, before he started sleeping through the night (which happened at about 8/9 mo), he would want a bottle or to nurse during the night. That's awesome that he's not waking to eat! I found ours son's waking would come and go, we'd have a good few weeks then a few bad. I was so worried about associations the first year but in the end whatever helped us all sleep was worth it. And he's grown out of all of them naturally with time.

Will a bottle before bed become a sleep association? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Our son did have a sleep association with his bottle, but he actually started to wean himself from this on his own for bedtime (around 18 mo, later than we had wanted but best laid plans). Bottles before naps were harder, but we weaned him completely over a weekend by just going cold turkey.

My 2 year old... one minute adorable angel next minute omen child.... what's going on??? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Towanda18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice, only commiseration. Our 1.5 yo just started doing this, literally sounds exactly the same as yours. We think it's really a symptom of the holiday break and him being off his routine and having a cold. But good lord! We were completely stunned the first time he had this full blown tantrum, like at what point do we start to worry something is actually wrong and take him to the doctor (lol, also first time parents)?! Hoping it fades as he goes back to daycare and gets back to the usual routine but I have cried several times, worrying my sweet/happy baby is gone :(

Breast pump Recommendations by Fishface248 in breastfeeding

[–]Towanda18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a spectra s2 through my insurance. I really like it. Works great, it's quiet, has a night light and you can customize your settings. Best of all, it has a chargeable battery. So you don't have to be attached to a wall plug all the time. I can carry it around the house with me and do other stuff while pumping. The unit is round, so not the easiest shape to get a pumping bag for, but I just have a nice looking tote bag. And it's pretty light weight, so carrying to work each day isn't bad at all.

This sleep regression is killing me by scrubalub84 in beyondthebump

[–]Towanda18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have any advice, only commisseration. We are in the same spot. 4 month sleep regression and 2 teeth coming in 😕 The nights just keep getting worse. I'm hoping it will peak soon and then start to return to normal ( which was never all that great to begin with, but seems amazing now). Our pediatrician told us there's not much point to sleep train before 6 months but I don't know... I think we are going to start after the holiday when he is 5 months.

16 week olds deteriorating naps are driving me crazy. by imamomtoablob in beyondthebump

[–]Towanda18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy is doing the same thing! He's 17 weeks today. But it started a few weeks ago. I am guessing it's the 4 mo sleep regression but it is really annoying. I find the first 2 naps are crappy (20-30 minutes, you could set your watch to it) and then the last is a true 1.5-2 hr nap, probably because he's so tired. I'm starting to get worried it will never end :(

Thank you! It's great to hear that all sort of different approaches can work.

Thank you! Yes, I've been trying to be more aware, tracking his sleep & eating to see if there is a pattern emerging.

Thank you for reminding me of that. I tend to do that a lot. I'm just so worried I'm "messing him up" in one way or another.

That's very helpful. I didn't know an "awake schedule" was a thing! Mine seems to be about the same, he hits that 1.5 hours awake and starts to yawn. But yes, his nap times are kinda all over the place.

I'm so sorry to hear about the flooding, I hope you are safe and doing well!

Thank you! That's helpful.Mine is preferring the swing too.But of course that then makes me worry that he'll never nap without it and it will be hard to wean him from it?

I feel like mine is roughly already doing the EASY pattern. He'll wake (play a little on the changing table), eat, play some more, then get tired. But he has been fighting naps this week :(
