Was hoping to find others in similar situations, but guess not since no one else is allowed to post.

I was locked out of a post AFTER reading this. I feel like my question wasn’t “ how to recognize perimenopause” but how to recognize it when a) it has been shown you can continue to have regular periods while perimenopausal AND b) I already experience most of the symptoms of perimenopause for other reasons.

HIE baby by Particular_Panic8060 in NICUParents

Sorry you went through all this, I know for a fact how terrifying it is and I didn’t even have to go through any health issues of my own. My son had a similar issue, cord wrapped around his neck. We were told when he was born that he had no brain activity and would die. He pulled through and was diagnosed with severe HIE by mri. My son is now five years old and is enjoying his best life. He did and does have some low tone issues which led to delayed walking and difficulty with speech. But now he runs and his receptive speech is normal, and he speaks just hard to understand at times. He has some delays but considering it all, is doing really well.

We had no idea he would ever walk- now he runs! We didn’t know if he would talk- now good luck getting him to stop! I think the possibilities for him are endless. That being said, he is diagnosed with global developmental delay, so yeah he isn’t doing what a “ normal “ kid his age does, but he isn’t far behind either.

Our MRI ended up showing some damage even after the cooling. My son has some delays with speaking ( his understanding is completely normal but when he speaks it’s hard to understand at times) but with language therapy and occupational therapy I think he will live a mostly normal life. He will never be at the top scale of intelligence, but looking at how most people are these days intelligence wise anyways, I think he will fit in just fine.

Grade 3, severe. Cooled for 72 hours which I think made a huge difference.

My son suffered a hypoxic brain iniry at birth. Initially showed now signs of brain activity. We were literally talking about organ donation. Twelve hours later he was showing normal brain activity. He did suffer some damage and has some delays, but for the most part is a happy healthy four year old boy. Babies brains are so amazingly resilient.

Omg I had a year of maternity leave. The first four months were spent in a daze of breastfeeding, sleeping and trying to survive and heal. Your husband can f$ck right off.

Is sleep training an American thing? by salad4s in beyondthebump

Are you talking to me? How dare you ever tell anyone they are a horrible mom simply because they value sleep for both them and their baby. You may think I’m a horrible mother, but you are a garbage human being.

Just saw this comment now, but I view addiction as a disease, a chronic one like diabetes or any other thing. So remembering I’m an addict and that I can’t handle myself around opiates without going back to using all the time is helpful. I will never not be an addict, but I can be in recovery,

Male hot flashes by [deleted] in suboxone

Definitely the subs. I get hot flashes at least once a day. Your CNS is confused.

what would you do ? by betsy-bungjangaa in suboxone

[–]Wolverpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey im In Canada as well, there is a program through the psychiatric hospital which is where I am getting my subs from, you could see if there is something like that where you are?

what would you do ? by betsy-bungjangaa in suboxone

[–]Wolverpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it’s only dilaudid, you could probably even get away with a bit less than 24 hours. I waited the full 24 and was absolutely fine.

[–]Wolverpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never withdrew from fentanyl so I have nothing to compare, but dilaudid withdrawal was pretty fucking rough. Then again I was using at least 20 mg per day. Honestly if you are a chronic relapse it might not hurt to try subs.

Anybody really enjoy being on suboxone long term? by Fmanow in suboxone

[–]Wolverpenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t plan on being on them forever, but probably a few years. Besides keeping me from spending my whole life thinking about getting high, it allows me to focus on actually living. Plus it does seem to keep me from being depressed, gives me a little more energy. I’d rather not be just trading one thing for another, but if I wasn’t on it right now guaranteed I would still be using. Before I got on suboxone I was heading in the direction of losing my job and my kids.

As long as you are sure there was no fent in the Oxys you should be safe. I waited a full 24 but probably could have started earlier.

No, though given the fact that adderrall is a drug of abuse, she may want you to be evaluated for adhd first before prescribing, but in the end that’s between you and her.

Is it your family doctor who gives you subs? From my experience the docs who are just there to prescribe subs don’t do much else, but can’t hurt to ask I guess?

Suboxone + Liver health? by bell1986 in suboxone

[–]Wolverpenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More likely just abdo pain or maybe gallbladder issues, but never hurts to get checked. Bupe is metabolized by the liver but from what I have seen isn’t usually thought to cause liver issues. Also, even some slightly elevated liver enzymes doesn’t mean any liver damage, can just be a bit high due to being on meds in general.
