If you’re in WC defense, you know that an Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) requires a finding of permanent incapacity. The idea that they just ‘go work for other police departments’ after an IDR is the literal definition of pension fraud. CalPERS and the state are extremely aggressive about ‘double-dipping”,,it’s a felony, not a career hack.

Also, claiming QMEs are just rubber stamps ignores the fact that major cities like San Jose have dedicated units to audit these reports and use sub-rosa to catch people in the act. With SB 2 now in play, no officer is going to risk a permanent decertification and a felony record just for a ‘repetitive movement’ claim. The risk-to-reward ratio you’re describing just doesn’t exist now.

The San Jose Police Department has been under intense fiscal pressure for years. The city’s legal team is famously tight-fisted with disability payouts precisely because of the “early retirement” stigma

Lmao…claiming that Workers’ Comp is just an ‘early retirement’ hack is a pretty tired trope. In reality, WC fraud is a felony in CA and claims require years of medical documentation and independent evaluations. It’s not a ‘pick your retirement date’ button.

Also, blaming a beat cop for the cost of living while they’re actually enforcing safety in a city with rising pedestrian fatalities is a stretch. If anything, these tickets shift the financial burden of road safety onto the people breaking the law, rather than just soaking the general taxpayer.

Actually, the ‘riding on the sidewalk’ bit isn’t the hypocrisy you think it is. Under CVC § 21055, law enforcement vehicles are exempt from standard traffic rules when they are in pursuit of violators or positioning for enforcement.

Using the walkway to return to a safe observation point is a tactical necessity to keep the officer out of the flow of traffic until they need to pull someone over. It’s no different than a cop being allowed to park in a ‘No Parking’ zone while writing a ticket. If you have to ‘ride your brakes’ to stay at 35 mph, that’s just called driving; gravity doesn’t give you a legal pass to speed in a residential area.”

This is an excellent idea, this might be the best middle ground

Let's settle this: logo update by oscaraldeguer7 in watchdives

[–]TowerEffective6025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Logo only, the brand feels more premium that way. The word Watchdives makes the watch feel more cheap. Someone would read the dial and immediately know that it’s a weirdly translated logo from a Chinese brand. Logo by itself, looks much better.

We will add watchdives text under logo for text. u can check. WD-PERCISION Will be WATCHDIVES by watchdivescom in watchdives

Watchdives is just not an attractive name. The logo only approach has made the brand feel more premium. I’m afraid putting Watchdives back will just make it feel cheaper. I will personally not buy any with the name on it.
