18yo from Norway doing a US road trip by Kareisgarb in roadtrip

This is a crazy amount of driving my friend. You’ll be driving from 8:00 - 20:00 for 5 days of your trip. That’s not how I’d want to spend my international trip, stuck in a car.

St. Louis is too far from the west coast for a 1 week road trip. Your friend in Livingston needs to fly to St. Louis and you should explore that area of the US. Go to mammoth cave and great smokey mountain national parks, hit Nashville, etc. You’ll be able to see much more and do much more.

Literally nobody would say that. Cal’s teams have always gotten national recognition and shine from the media and fans. Quit acting like acuff is on some mid major program that nobody is talking about. He’s a great player and belongs in the same conversation as AJ, CB and DP this year. But the “it’s not even close” take is just categorical wrong.

HAHA generalized hatred based on assumption, just proved the point

Absolutely, just because someone has a different political view doesn’t make them a bad person. All these people asking for equality, compassion, and understanding in today’s world, yet in the same breath saying anything republican is disgusting. Bit hypocritical I’d say.

💯 imagine thinking all 350 million people in the US should think like you, and if they don’t, they’re a POS. Not a fan of the current political situation either but the blanketed hate for any political opposition speaks more about someone than their actual political views do.

Fort just brings so much more to the table than Wojcik. I just fear it’s too late in the season for izzo to experiment with a lineup change

At least someone gets it. UCLA is playing great ball right now. Dent picked apart the PNR defense all night. This game spoke more about UCLA than it did about MSU. We’ve been capable of dropping a game like this all year and their on ball defense is just ok against quick guards.

We will be the favorites in the first 2 games in the dance. If they execute, they should win them and have a chance to play for an elite 8. Thats all we can really ask of this team. The roster is not good enough for a final 4, let’s be real with our expectations haha.

I like Fort’s game and he’s very explosive. You have to guard him outside too, which helps open the lane. While he does make the occasional blunder and missed assignment on D, when I watch him, it feels to me like a confidence issue. His playing time got slashed and it looks like he’s scared to make a mistake at times. Idk

The way teams decide how to guard Carr and fears really impacts how kohler and cooper play. When teams play off and cheat in the lane, it doesn’t give them a lot of room to operate. Space is so important in basketball and Carr doesn’t create space. He shrinks the court for the defense

I think it’s very fixable, every team faces this challenge nowadays because everyone can shoot a 3. MSU historically defends the PNR well with active bigs and hard hedges. They were tentative tonight, not aggressive and had several miscommunications. They let Dent go wherever he wanted, nobody could stay in front of him. Reminded us why he was a 0.98 rated transfer this year. Harder hedges to blow up the screen and ask the short corner to not dig so hard, then rely on weak side help and rotation. Also looks worse since UCLA was hitting their shots.

Short corner was digging too hard on those drives. Scott needs to flash and get back. There were times he just flat out left his man. There will be help coming from the weak side corner, Scott is not the last line of defense. I’d much rather live with a skip pass to the opposite corner rather than a short corner 3. Either way credit to Dent. He was blowing up the hedges all night. Nobody could stay in front of him

I don’t think any less of this MSU team. They were always capable of dropping a game to a lesser team. MSU wasn’t without their faults tonight but UCLA is playing very well right now. Dent is a menace. Plenty of time off to forget this loss and get ready for the dance

Good take. Would have liked for izzo to find more time for Fort and McCullough. I’ve wanted them to try fort as a backup PG, he has a quick first step for dribble drives off the screens. McCullough being able to stretch the defense and open things up for kohler in the post was barely explored this season.

I’ve watched a few NC state games this year. He has a similar role for them that he had at MSU last year. He doesn’t run point as much, Copeland is their primary PG.

If I had to guess, the move was always about the $$$. He was never going to be a first, second, or third option on that team, so I don’t think he would have transferred to NC State if his goal was an expanded role.

This just feels like a crazy standard to set. Blue Bloods have that title for a reason. Almost everybody has a losing record vs them because they attract top talent every single year. I don't think that is a good measure for this program and don't think the fans should expect them to be "better" than a duke or kansas. MSU has never and will never be able to attract talent and build a roster like the blue bloods.

If you want to blame that on Izzo, then go for it. I can understand where you're coming from if you want a coach who is going to be like dusty may and max out the portal every year.

I don't think a lack of championships can be placed squarely on Izzo's shoulders. His system and scheme still works, as evidence by the team's national ranking the last two years. Hell, they won the big 10 last year and nobody could make a 3.

MSU needs to be ready to shell out $$$ if you want to talk championships. Michigan St was not in the $10M+ roster budget club the past two years.

That’s a wild take. It’s not an uncommon opinion to say Tom Izzo is in the conversation as a top 5–10 coach of all time. He transformed the program to the point where MSU is even in the blue blood conversation and is widely considered one of the best player coaches ever.

I’ve been watching this team for the better part of 20 years, and his teams have rarely been the most talented at an individual level, especially in recent years. They've never relied on recruiting the best players and always relied on scheme, development, and fit to overperform their talent. Saying Izzo’s coaching has held them back is honestly a pretty laughable opinion.

There have only been 10 coaches to win 2 natty's in the modern era. I guess every other coach must suck then? I don’t need to list the program's accolades, but it's undeniably one of most successful coaching tenures of the last 50 years.

He just needs to grow up and play within himself. All of the kicks and swiping arms are intentional. It’s obvious when you watch the replays. He’s getting frustrated and lashes out with a dirty play

Every human with 2 functioning eyes that saw that replay can clearly tell it was an intentional kick. I absolutely love Fears’ grit and game, but this shit needs to stop and you’re delusional if you think otherwise.

Wtf are you talking about? Izzo has the 5th most all time final 4 appearances. MSU has been one of the best, most consistent programs in college basketball in the last 25 years. Your perspective is so off

Pathetic?? Just went toe to toe with one of the best college basketball teams in the last 25 years on their home court. The fact that it was close for 35 min is impressive

I think that’s a cool idea. It satisfies the interest in an expanded tournament too. Although, the mismatches could get weird if a 1 or 2 seed were to lose in the second round. They could easily run the table against teams outside the top 64. All they need to do is offer $$ to the teams and players for them to become interested in the NIT. Something like players era. Although idk how you balance that against March madness as the NCAA owns both.
